Day 1
Nairobi to Maasai Mara
Nairobi to Maasai Mara
The journey begins with an early morning departure from Nairobi, descending the Kikuyu Escarpment into the Great Rift Valley. This geological trench, stretching from Lebanon to Mozambique, provides a dramatic backdrop for the first leg of the safari. After a brief stop at the Rift Valley Viewpoint, the route continues through the wheat-growing plains of Narok.
Upon arrival at Talek Bush Camp, guests check in and enjoy a late lunch. The afternoon features the inaugural game drive in the Talek sector. This region is a "predator hotspot" where the Talek and Olare Orok rivers converge, creating a rich habitat for the Marsh Pride of lions. The drive concludes at sunset, a time when nocturnal hunters begin to stir.

Day 2
Full day in Maasai Mara
Full day in Maasai Mara
This day is dedicated to a comprehensive exploration of the reserve, often reaching the Mara River. During the months of July through October, this area becomes the stage for the Great Migration, where over 1.5 million wildebeest and zebras perform perilous river crossings.
Even outside the migration season, the river is home to massive pods of hippopotamuses (Hippopotamus amphibius) and Nile crocodiles (Crocodylus niloticus). A picnic lunch is typically served under an isolated acacia tree on the plains, allowing for uninterrupted wildlife viewing. The day focuses on completing the "Big Five" checklist: Lion, Leopard, Elephant, Buffalo, and the elusive Black Rhino.

Day 3
Full day Maasai Mara
Full day Maasai Mara
The third day allows for a "wildcard" approach. Travelers may opt for a pre-dawn game drive to witness the sunrise over the savannah, a peak time for leopard activity as they descend from their daytime arboreal perches
In the afternoon, an optional visit to a local Maasai Manyatta (village) offers insight into the semi-nomadic pastoralist lifestyle. Visitors can observe traditional jumping dances (Adumu), learn about indigenous medicine, and see the construction of dung-plastered dwellings. Alternatively, guests can arrange a hot air balloon safari at dawn for a panoramic view of the ecosystem.
