Arusha to Tarangire National Park
After breakfast, we set out early for Tarangire National Park, named after the Tarangire River, also known as the “river of warthogs,” which serves as the main water source for wildlife during the dry season. The park features dense vegetation, including elephant grass and acacia woodlands, and is famous for its large elephant herds often seen gathered by the river.
Along the way, you may spot giraffes, bushbucks, and hartebeests, followed by predators like lions and leopards. Tarangire also boasts more breeding bird species than anywhere else in the world. As home to Tanzania’s largest elephant population, it’s the perfect place to observe these majestic animals, from playful calves to massive bulls. After a packed lunch, we transfer to our lodge for dinner and an overnight stay at Eileen's Tree Inn or a similar accommodation.

Ngorongoro Crater to Serengeti National Park
After breakfast, we depart early for the Ngorongoro Crater, a landscape that feels like a world frozen in time. Here, you may have the chance to see the endangered black rhino and large lion prides. Formed when a massive volcano erupted and collapsed two to three million years ago, the crater is renowned for its unique geology and as a natural sanctuary supporting some of Africa’s densest populations of large mammals.
The drive down to the crater floor is an adventure, and once there, you’ll encounter herds of wildebeest, zebras, gazelles, and over 500 bird species. Ngorongoro offers one of the best opportunities to spot the elusive black rhino in open grasslands. After a packed lunch, continue to Serengeti National Park, with dinner and an overnight stay at Embalakai Camp.

Serengeti National park to Karatu
After an early breakfast, we set off for a game drive around 6:30 am, spending 6 to 7 hours exploring the breathtaking Serengeti National Park. This iconic park is home to a vast array of wildlife, including impalas, buffaloes, crocodiles, and hippos. It is especially famous for the great migration, with massive herds of zebras (around 250,000), wildebeests (1.5 million), and antelopes (500,000), whose movements depend on seasonal rainfall.
In addition to the migrating herds, keep an eye out for predators such as lions, leopards, and cheetahs as they hunt in the wild. Around 2:00 pm, we drive back to Karatu, where we stay at our selected mid-range partner lodge. Enjoy dinner in a well-appointed restaurant, unwind by the pool, or relax by the fire under the African night sky. Overnight accommodations will be at Eileen's Tree Inn, offering comfort and rest after a day filled with incredible wildlife encounters.

After an early breakfast at the lodge, we drive to Lake Manyara National Park, a small yet remarkably diverse park located 120 km west of Arusha. The park is named after its shallow soda lake, which covers about 70% of the area and hosts thousands of flamingos along with over 500 other bird species, changing with the seasonal floods and dry periods.
During our game drive, we may encounter monkeys, giraffes, zebras, wildebeests, buffaloes, elephants, and, with some luck, lions resting in the trees.
