Day 1
Your day begins early in Kisoro Town, where you’ll have a quick breakfast at your lodge before driving to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park for registration and briefing at the park headquarters in Rushaga. After meeting your ranger guides, you’ll begin your trek through the dense forest in search of a gorilla family. The trek may take between two and six hours, depending on the location of the gorillas. Along the way, you’ll enjoy the sights and sounds of the forest, colorful birds, butterflies, and other primates that make Bwindi a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Once you locate the gorilla group, you’ll spend an awe-inspiring hour observing their behavior, watching them feed, play, and interact. Capture memories through photos (without flash) and listen to your guide’s insights about gorilla conservation. After this magical encounter, you’ll trek back to the starting point, where you’ll receive your trekking certificate before returning to Kisoro Town, arriving by late afternoon.
