Begin your safari with a morning flight from Zanzibar to Dar es Salaam. Upon arrival, you will be met by your guide and transferred by road to Nyerere National Park (Selous Game Reserve), a journey of about 4–5 hours. Selous is one of Africa’s largest protected wildlife reserves, home to elephants, lions, hippos, crocodiles, and diverse bird species. After arriving, enjoy an afternoon game drive, spotting wildlife in the riverine forests and open savannah. Check into Africa Safari Selous Camp Nyerere, a mid-range lodge offering comfortable cottages and panoramic views of the Rufiji River. Relax with dinner at the lodge and an overnight stay.

Full Game Drive in Nyerere National Park (Selous Game Reserve)

After breakfast, embark on a morning game drive to explore more of Selous’ vast wilderness. The early hours offer the best opportunities to observe predators and other wildlife as they are most active. Return to the lodge around midday for lunch and a short rest. In the afternoon, enjoy a boat safari along the Rufiji River, where you can see hippos, crocodiles, and waterbirds up close, or choose another game drive to explore different parts of the reserve. Return to Africa Safari Selous Camp Nyerere for dinner and an overnight stay.

Nyerere (Selous) to Zanzibar

After lunch, transfer back to Dar es Salaam (approximately 4–5 hours) to catch your flight back to Zanzibar. Arrive in the afternoon or evening, concluding your 3-day Selous safari with unforgettable memories of Tanzania’s incredible wildlife and landscapes.
