Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO), you will be warmly welcomed by a professional representative from Joja’s Adventure Tours. After a short meet-and-greet session, you’ll be transferred by private vehicle to the vibrant town of Moshi, nestled at the base of Mount Kilimanjaro.
Your overnight stay will be at the Chanya Lodge, a charming and comfortable boutique hotel known for its tranquil gardens, warm hospitality, and excellent service. The rest of the day is dedicated to relaxation and recovery from your journey. Guests are encouraged to unwind, enjoy the serene atmosphere, take a dip in the pool, or savor freshly prepared local and international cuisine at the hotel’s restaurant.
And prepare for the exciting safari days ahead, beginning with your transfer to Mkomazi National Park the following morning.

The second day is devoted to a full-day game drive in Mkomazi National Park, with a special focus on the Mkomazi Rhino Sanctuary. This sanctuary is one of the most important black rhino conservation initiatives in East Africa, playing a vital role in the long-term survival of this endangered species.
After a picnic lunch in the bush or at a designated rest area, the game drive continues into the park’s diverse habitats. From the open plains to acacia woodlands and seasonal waterholes, guests have the chance to witness large herds of ungulates and may encounter elephants, hartebeest, and — with some luck — a pride of lions or a pack of wild dogs.

Guests enjoy an early morning game drive to catch wildlife during their most active hours, followed by a relaxed breakfast back at the lodge.
An optional cultural visit is available in the late morning or early afternoon. Depending on interest, guests can visit a nearby Pare or Sambaa village for a guided cultural experience that includes local farming practices, traditional architecture, music, dance, and community life. This offers an enriching perspective on how Tanzanians live and preserve their heritage alongside conservation efforts.

After a final breakfast in the serene wilderness, guests begin the return journey to Arusha. The drive offers time to reflect on the remarkable sights and stories from Mkomazi and to discuss any final wildlife sightings with the guide.
Upon arrival in Arusha in the late afternoon, guests are either dropped off at their hotel or transferred to Kilimanjaro International Airport for their onward journey.
