2-Day Golden Monkey in Kigala&Gorilla Tracking in Bwindi

Transfer to Volcano National Park, Golden Monkey Tracking and Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest

You'll be met by our driver guide in Kigali at 6:00 am and be transferred to the park head offices in Kinigi by 7:00 am. Join up with the other golden monkey trekkers, meet the ranger guide for a few minutes talk about the activity and the park. At 8:00 am, transfer to the trailhead just outside the park. Enjoy great views of the mountain scenery as you start your trek to find the golden monkeys. The golden monkeys live near the edge of the park in the bamboo forests where the ground is relatively flat and easy to trek. Find the monkeys and follow them as they feed. Notice how they skillfully pick the young bamboo leaves from the tip of the bamboo tree. They may also move out of the park into the potato fields. How they love the potatoes!
After an amazing one hour with the golden monkeys, you will return to the trailhead and drive back to the lodge for lunch. Thereafter, head to the border. After clearing, we will proceed to Bwindi.
Dinner and your overnight stay will be at the lodge.

Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi & Return to Kigali

Rise early for breakfast, the forest alive with morning sounds as you gear up for gorilla trekking. Drive to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest headquarters for a briefing, then set off on a 2-6 hour trek through dense trails, your guide tracking gorilla families with expert skill. Encounter these majestic creatures in their natural habitat, spending an hour watching them forage, play, and rest, their soulful eyes leaving a lasting impression. Return to the lodge by midday for a quick refreshment, then board your vehicle for the 4-hour journey back to Kigali, crossing the Cyanika border en route. Arrive in the late afternoon or evening, with a drop-off at your hotel or Kigali International Airport for your departure, carrying memories of Rwanda and Uganda’s primate wonders.
