Today, you will drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park. It is a 7-hour drive across central Uganda. You will make a stop for lunch in Fort Portal town. After your lunch, you continue southwards, leaving the highlands and heading down into the Rift Valley, with the Rwenzori Mountain range in the distance. Head to Kasese town before finally reaching Queen Elizabeth National Park. On arrival, you'll check in at Pumba Safari Cottages. If you have arrived with time to spare, you'll visit one of the region’s crater lakes, Katwe where salt has been mined for centuries. Lake Katwe, which is situated just north of the impressive Mweya peninsula, is far too salty to support any wildlife. However, since the 16th Century, it has ensured the survival of the Katwe residents, who spend their days under the equatorial sun harvesting salt from its milky waters. Later, you'll return to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

On a morning guided walk, you will often encounter hyenas who are returning to their dens after a night of being on the prowl. On a nature walk, you will often see zebras, giraffes, elands, topi, antelopes, buffaloes, birds, and butterflies. After your walk, you will return to the lodge, take a shower and check out ready for the drive to Entebbe.
