Welcome! You will arrive in Uganda at Entebbe International Airport, located on a peninsula that juts out into Lake Victoria, the largest freshwater lake in Africa. Here a representative/guide from Uzuri Uganda Safaris will transfer you to Via Via Guest House for your overnight stay.

Day 2

Drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park

Drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park

Today, you will drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park. It is a 7-hour drive across central Uganda. You will make a stop for lunch in Fort Portal town. After your lunch, you continue southwards, leaving the highlands and heading down into the Rift Valley, with the Rwenzori Mountain range in the distance. Head to Kasese town before finally reaching Queen Elizabeth National Park. On arrival, you'll check in at Pumba Safari Cottages. If you have arrived with time to spare, you'll visit one of the region’s crater lakes, Katwe where salt has been mined for centuries. Lake Katwe, which is situated just north of the impressive Mweya peninsula, is far too salty to support any wildlife. However, since the 16th Century, it has ensured the survival of the Katwe residents, who spend their days under the equatorial sun harvesting salt from its milky waters. Later, you'll return to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 3

Game Drive and Boat Safari along Kazinga Channel

After an early breakfast at 6:00 am. Your guide will take you on a game drive to the northern sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park through the Kasenyi track in search of lions, hyenas, buffaloes, leopards, water bucks, bush bucks, Uganda kob plus many bird species including ibis, fish eagles and vultures. At about 10:00 am, you will head back to your lodge for relaxation and lunch.
At 3:00 pm, you will embark on a boat cruise along the Kazinga Channel a major highlight of your safari. On the boat cruise, you will have the opportunity to view great numbers of wildlife including elephants, crocodiles, hippos, buffaloes and large numbers of birds like eagles, kingfishers, sparrows, doves, weaver birds, eaglets and sun birds converging at the channel waters to enjoy a sip of the natural waters. After the 3-hour boat cruise, you will then return to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 4

Drive to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park via Ishasha Sector

The drive, which will serve as your morning game drive will last between 3-4 hours. Have your eyes peeled for more game. On arrival in the Ishasha Sector, you will search for the famous and unique tree-climbing lions. There are about 4 prides of lions in the area numbering more than 40 in total. Look out for the males with their black mane, which is a notable attribute. Also, there are about 1000+ elephants present in the area and you normally see large numbers. There are topi (savannah relatives of the world-famous wildebeests) and Uganda kob antelopes in large numbers. The drive is a fantastic opportunity to take lots of pictures. On arrival, you will go on a search for the area’s famous residents. At the right time, you will exit the park and continue to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. On arrival, you will check in at Ride4AWoman Guest House or a similar lodge. You will have the rest of the day to yourself.

Day 5

You will have an early breakfast at 6:00 am and transfer to the briefing point. With a packed lunch in your carry-on, you'll listen to the briefing from the rangers on what to expect before commencing your trek. The guides will then take you through the bush, pushing your way through the undergrowth, looking for where the family of gorillas you are tracking spent the night. When you finally locate the family that you are tracking, you'll sit in the forest among the gorillas, watching them go about their day, and marvel at the dominant male, the silverback. It is an extraordinary feeling sitting in the dense rainforest in the knowledge that you are in the presence of the few remaining mountain gorillas in the wild. After the mandatory 1 hour is up, the rangers and guides will lead you back to the trailhead where your driver/guide will be waiting. You will receive your certificate and transfer to Lake Bunyonyi. You will arrive and check in at Bunyonyi Overland Resort and rest.

Day 6

Drive to Lake Mburo National Park

This morning, you will wake up at leisure and enjoy your breakfast. At 9:00 am, you will check out and start your drive to Lake Mburo National Park. You will make a lunch stop in Mbarara town before continuing to Lake Mburo. On arrival, you will go straight for a game drive to see what this small park has to offer. Lake Mburo National Park is the only park in Uganda with impalas, antelopes and Burchell’s Zebra. You are also on the lookout for elands, giraffes and a lot more. The scenery of rolling hills, lakes, and swamps make Africa real, and it is in Lake Mburo where the Tanzanian savannah meets Uganda in a most scenic fashion. At about 6:30 pm, you will head to Eagles Nest and check in for dinner and an overnight stay.

Bush Walk, Drive to Entebbe and Departure

You will wake up at 6:00 am and enjoy breakfast. Lake Mburo National Park is one of two game parks in Uganda where visitors are allowed to go for a bush nature walk with an experienced ranger. On a morning guided walk, you will often encounter hyenas who are returning to their dens after a night of being on the prowl. At the same time, you can often see hippos returning from grazing during the night and returning to the lake to keep cool during the day and protect their sensitive skin from the sun. On a nature walk, you will often see zebras, giraffes, elands, topi, antelopes, buffaloes, birds, and butterflies. After your walk, you will return to the lodge, take a shower and check out ready for the drive to Entebbe. At the Equator crossing, you'll take some fun pictures and purchase crafts from your Uganda safari. You will enjoy lunch at the Equator and continue to Entebbe International Airport in time for you to check in for your onward flight home.
