On arrival to Kigali, you will be warmly welcomed by our experienced English-speaking driver-guide who will brief you about the adventure ahead. You will later embark on a scenic cross-border drive to Uganda’s Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, home to half of the world’s remaining mountain gorillas. This journey offers breathtaking views of rolling hills and lush landscapes. After checking into your lodge, you'll enjoy an immersive Batwa Cultural Experience. The Batwa will share their traditional songs, dances, and forest survival skills, offering a deep cultural connection to the region. Later you will transfer back to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 2

After an early breakfast, you’ll head to the park headquarters for a briefing before beginning your unforgettable gorilla trekking adventure. Accompanied by experienced rangers, you’ll trek through dense jungle terrain in search of a habituated gorilla family. The moment you find them, you'll spend one magical hour observing their behavior up close—a once-in-a-lifetime experience. After the trek, you'll be transferred to the stunning Lake Bunyonyi, known for its picturesque, island-dotted waters and cool climate. In the afternoon, enjoy a peaceful canoe exploration around some of the lake’s 29 islands, each with its own story and unique charm. Dinner and overnight by the lakeside.

Day 3
Transfer to Nyungwe National Park
Transfer to Nyungwe National Park
After a leisurely breakfast by the lake, you’ll begin your journey back into Rwanda, heading south to Nyungwe National Park, one of Africa’s oldest and most pristine montane rainforests. The drive is long but scenic, passing terraced hills, rural communities, and tea plantations. On arrival, check into your midrange lodge nestled on the edge of the forest. Take the rest of the evening to relax and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere in preparation for an exciting day in the canopy tomorrow. Dinner and overnight in Nyungwe.

Day 4

This morning after breakfast, prepare for an exhilarating canopy walk in Nyungwe Forest. Suspended 50 meters above the forest floor, the high bridge offers stunning panoramic views of the vast green canopy, mist-covered hills, and rich biodiversity of the park. It's an ideal spot for birdwatching and spotting various primates from above. In the afternoon, set off on a guided trek in search of the charismatic Angola colobus monkeys. Nyungwe hosts one of the largest troops of these monkeys, often seen leaping through the treetops in groups. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 5

After breakfast, you will head into the forest for an exciting chimpanzee trekking experience. Nyungwe is home to over 500 chimpanzees and the thrill of tracking them through the dense vegetation is an adventure in itself. Once found, you'll have time to observe their social behavior and listen to their lively calls echoing through the trees. After the trek, you will enjoy lunch before beginning the drive back to Kigali. You’ll be dropped off at your preferred location in the city or at Kigali International Airport, marking the end of a memorable cross-border primate safari.
