Upon your arrival at Entebbe International Airport, a friendly Terenga Safaris driver-guide will be there to warmly welcome you to Uganda – the Pearl of Africa. You will then be transferred to your reserved accommodation. If your flight arrives early in the day, you’ll enjoy a late afternoon city tour of Kampala, with possible visits to notable sites such as the Kasubi Tombs, the Uganda Museum, and the Namugongo Martyrs Shrine. After the excursion, you'll return to your accommodation for a well-deserved rest.

Day 2

After breakfast, you’ll set off on a scenic drive northwards to the iconic Murchison Falls National Park. Along the way, enjoy a lunch stop in Masindi, followed by a visit to Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary, where you’ll have the rare opportunity to track Uganda’s only wild rhinos in their protected habitat.

Later in the day, you’ll arrive at Murchison Falls National Park Uganda’s largest and most diverse protected area, spanning 3,840 square kilometers. One of the highlights of the day is a visit to the top of Murchison Falls, where the mighty Nile River is forced through a narrow 7-meter gorge from over a kilometer wide, plunging dramatically below with a thunderous roar. The powerful spray and sunlight often create a breathtaking rainbow, making it one of the most stunning natural sights along the Nile.

After this awe-inspiring experience, head to your lodge for dinner and a well-deserved rest.

Murchison Falls National Park Game Drives

Murchison Falls National Park Game Drives

Start your day with an early, delicious breakfast before heading out to explore the northern sector of Murchison Falls National Park, home to a rich concentration of savannah wildlife. This morning game drive offers fantastic photography opportunities, with chances to spot elephants, lions, Uganda kobs, buffaloes, giraffes, waterbucks, and hippos. If you're lucky, you may even catch a glimpse of the elusive leopard, along with a wide variety of bird species.

After lunch, embark on a 2-hour boat cruise to the base of the spectacular Murchison Falls, where the mighty Nile forces its way through a narrow gorge, creating a powerful and thunderous cascade. Along the riverbanks, you'll see abundant wildlife including hippos, crocodiles, and numerous water birds.

You’ll return to the lodge via a brief evening game drive, then enjoy dinner and a relaxing evening at your accommodation.

Day 4

After an early breakfast, you'll depart for Kibale National Park, a journey that takes you through the beautiful Ugandan countryside. Enjoy a lunch stop in Fort Portal, a charming town nestled in the shadow of the majestic Rwenzori Mountains.

In the afternoon, take a guided nature walk through the Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary, a haven for bird lovers and nature enthusiasts. Here, you’ll encounter a variety of bird species, colorful butterflies, and several species of primates in their natural habitat.

Later, head to your lodge in Bigodi for dinner and an overnight stay, surrounded by the peaceful sounds of nature.

Today, you'll set out to track the most iconic residents of Kibale National Park the chimpanzees. Sharing approximately 98% of their DNA with humans, chimpanzees are our closest living relatives. While they inhabit 21 countries across Africa, Uganda offers some of the best opportunities to see them in the wild, thanks to its healthy and dense populations. Currently, an estimated 5,000 chimpanzees remain in Uganda’s forests. The trekking experience takes place along well-maintained forest trails, offering an unforgettable encounter with these fascinating primates in their natural habitat.

After the chimpanzee trek, you'll enjoy a guided nature walk through the Bigodi Wetlands Sanctuary, a lush swamp ecosystem rich in biodiversity. This 2 to 3-hour walk reveals a thriving habitat home to eight primate species, over 200 bird species, and various reptiles. A true highlight of the walk is the chance to spot the Great Blue Turaco, a vibrant and sought-after bird species among birdwatchers.

Scenic Queen Elizabeth National Park is located in southwestern Uganda and is most often included in visitors’ itineraries. It is the second largest park in the country and is located at the base of the majestic Rwenzori Mountain range, next to Lake Edward and Lake George which are joined by the Kazinga channel. Few reserves in the world have such high biodiversity with landscapes including savannah, bushland, wetlands, and lush forests. On your first game drive, it is time to explore the Queen Elizabeth National Park with its 200 kilometers of well-maintained game viewing tracks. We advise for you to be alert and proactive on your game drive to help the ranger spot as many animals as possible. With an astonishing 5000 hippos, 2500 elephants, and over 10,000 buffalo thriving in its grasslands and shorelines. A professional ranger with extensive knowledge of the park and its inhabitants will join you in your car so you can ask your guide to search for specific birdlife or wildlife.

After an early breakfast, you'll head out at 6:30 a.m. for a morning game drive, timed perfectly to catch the sunrise and observe early-rising wildlife at their most active. This extended drive gives you the chance to spot a wide range of animals including elephants, buffaloes, lions, leopards, waterbucks, Uganda kobs, warthogs, and more, all against the breathtaking backdrop of the awakening savannah.

In the afternoon, after lunch, you'll embark on a boat safari along the Kazinga Channel, a waterway famed for its incredible concentration of wildlife. Expect to see hundreds of hippos, more than you could ever imagine, as well as buffaloes, crocodiles, bathing elephants, and a colorful array of bird species. This up-close water-based experience offers fantastic photo opportunities and is often considered one of the highlights of any safari in Uganda.

After an early breakfast, you'll set off for Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, traveling through the Ishasha sector in the southern part of Queen Elizabeth National Park a region famous for its rare and iconic tree-climbing lions. Keep your eyes peeled for these majestic predators lounging in fig trees, a truly unique wildlife sighting.

The journey continues with a lunch stop en route, followed by an afternoon arrival in Bwindi. In the evening, you’ll take part in a community walk, featuring the Batwa (Pygmy) cultural experience, where you'll enjoy traditional music, dance, and storytelling that offer a glimpse into the rich heritage of one of Uganda’s oldest indigenous communities.

Later, unwind with dinner and an overnight stay at the lodge of your choice, nestled on the edge of the ancient forest.

After breakfast, you will proceed to the park headquarters to be briefed about the gorilla tracking before going into the verdant forest led by the rangers. In case you are fortunate, it may take you about 2 hours or even less to see the amazing Bwindi giants. The experience of coming face to face with these peaceful primates is very overwhelming. You will head back to the lodge where you will have lunch after tracking the gorillas. You will relax at the lodge the whole evening.

Depending on your travel plans, you’ll then be transferred to Entebbe International Airport for your outbound flight, or taken to your accommodation if you're staying in Uganda a bit longer.
