After a short rest, you descend to Baranco Camp (3,950m), located at the base of the famous Baranco Wall. Today you descend from Baranco Camp after climbing the famous Baranco Wall, then trek through the scenic Karanga Valley, a beautiful high-altitude area with alpine vegetation and dramatic rock formations. The trail is shorter, allowing your body to acclimatize while enjoying panoramic views of Kilimanjaro’s ridges. You’ll arrive at Karanga Camp (4,100m) in the afternoon, rest, and prepare for the next day’s ascent toward Barafu Base Camp.

From Karanga Camp, you continue your ascent through alpine desert terrain toward Barafu Base Camp, the staging point for your summit attempt. The trail is rocky and steep in sections, with minimal vegetation but spectacular views of Kilimanjaro’s glaciers and ridges. Upon arrival at Barafu Base Camp, your tents and warm meal await. Rest and hydrate well, as this camp is crucial for acclimatization before the midnight push to Uhuru Peak.

The ultimate day begins with a midnight start from Barafu Base Camp. Hiking by headlamp through the cold, dark alpine desert, you climb slowly and steadily toward Uhuru Peak (5,895m), Africa’s highest point. The summit offers breathtaking sunrise views of glaciers, valleys, and distant plains, making the climb unforgettable.

After photos and a short rest at the summit, you descend through alpine desert, moorland, and rainforest to Mweka Camp (3,100m). Along the way, enjoy changing landscapes and reflect on your incredible achievement. At Mweka, relax, have a warm meal, and celebrate your successful summit.

On your final day, you descend through lush rainforest from Mweka Camp toward the Mweka Gate. The trail is downhill and can be muddy or slippery, so trekking poles and sturdy boots are recommended. Along the way, enjoy the vibrant flora, birdlife, and occasional monkeys.

At Mweka Gate, you’ll complete your descent registration and receive your Kilimanjaro summit certificate, a lasting reminder of your achievement. From the gate, you’ll be transferred to Moshi Town for a warm shower, celebratory meal, and well-earned rest.
