Upon your arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport (KIA), you'll be greeted by your experienced safari guide. After a warm welcome and a brief introduction to the adventure ahead, you'll embark on a scenic drive towards Arusha. This charming town, nestled in the downtownn.
Upon arrival in Arusha, you'll check into your chosen lodge or campsite. Depending on your arrival time, you may have the opportunity to relax and unwind after your journey, perhaps enjoying the lodge's amenities or taking a short walk around the grounds. The evening is a chance to prepare for the exciting days ahead and get a good night's rest. You might consider packing a small daypack with essentials for the next day's game drive, ensuring your camera, binoculars, and sunscreen are easily accessible. After an early breakfast you will drive to the area where the Hadzabe people live. You’ll join them on a hunting expedition, learning about their traditional hunting techniques and their deep connection to the land. The Hadzabe are incredibly skilled hunters, using bows and arrows to hunt small animals and birds.
You'll learn about their unique language, which is characterized by click sounds, and their social structure, which is based on egalitarianism and cooperation. You'll also have the opportunity to learn about their traditional medicine and their knowledge of local plants and animals.
