Arrive at the airport, where our friendly team will meet you and take you to your hotel. After your long flight, you’ll have time to rest and get comfortable. Later, meet your guide for a short briefing about your trek. You’ll learn about your route, safety tips, and how to handle the high altitude. We’ll also check your gear and help you rent or buy anything you’re missing. Enjoy a nice dinner and get a good night’s sleep your climb starts tomorrow.

Day 2

Marangu Gate to Mandara Hut

Rainforest, monkeys, and birds
After breakfast, drive to Marangu Gate (1,860 m) and proceed to Mandara Hut (2,700 m) to register and meet your mountain team. Begin your hike through a beautiful rainforest, where you may spot black-and-white colobus monkeys and colorful birds along the way. The trail is smooth and not too steep. At Mandara Hut, rest in a mountain hut and enjoy a hot meal. In the afternoon, take a short walk to Maundi Crater for stunning views of Kilimanjaro and Kenya. Return to the hut for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 3

Mandara Hut to Horombo Hut

Open moorland, views of Mawenzi and Kibo Peaks
After breakfast, continue your hike from Mandara Hut (2,700 m) to Horombo Hut (3,700 m). Today, the forest opens into moorland, with tall plants such as giant lobelias. The trail offers stunning views of Kilimanjaro’s twin peaks, Mawenzi and Kibo. As you ascend, the temperature will gradually drop. By the afternoon, you will reach Horombo Hut, where you can enjoy tea, a hot meal, and a beautiful sunset before a restful night.

Day 4

Horombo Hut to Kibo Hut

Today, you’ll hike through the stunning Saddle, a wide, dry area between Mawenzi and Kibo, from Horombo Hut (3,700 m) to Kibo Hut (4,700 m). The landscape feels like a desert, with breathtaking views at every step. Take it slow, drink plenty of water, and enjoy the unique high-altitude scenery. In the afternoon, arrive at Kibo Hut your base for the thrilling summit climb. Enjoy an early dinner, rest well, and get ready to start your unforgettable midnight ascent to the top of Kilimanjaro.

Wake up just before midnight for the ultimate challenge: the climb from Kibo Hut to Uhuru Peak (5,895 m)! With headlamps lighting your way, ascend slowly up the steep trail. Watch the sunrise at Gilman’s Point (5,681 m) and see the glaciers glow in the first light. Then reach Uhuru Peak the highest point in Africa! Celebrate with photos and the incredible view. Afterward, descend to Kibo Hut for a short rest, then continue down to Horombo Hut. End the day with a hearty dinner and a well-earned sleep.

After breakfast, hike back down through the forest to Marangu Gate. At the gate, you’ll get your official summit certificate—proof of your great achievement! Then drive back to your hotel in Moshi. Enjoy a warm shower, a delicious meal, and a relaxing evening.
