This small but beautiful Tanzanian National Park is the closest national park to both the famous Arusha “safari town” (40 km) as well as the Kilimanjaro International Airport, thus making it ideal for 1-day safaris or tours. Not only is the animal life in the park abundant, but it is also one of the most beautiful and topographically varied parks in Tanzania. The park’s three most significant features include the rugged Mount Meru (Tanzania’s second highest peak at 4566m), the notably different colored Momela Lakes, and the 3km wide Ngurdoto Crater, which was formed about fifteen million years ago!

Tarangire national park

Tarangire is a park of giant baobab trees, rolling savannah and acacia Parkland. It is famous for its dense wildlife population, which is most spectacular in the dry season between June and September. It is during this period that thousands of animals- wildebeest, zebra, Eland, hartebeest, buffalo, and onyx migrate from the dry Maasai steppe to the Tarangire River in search of water. The predators -lion, leopard and others- as is the custom in the savanna follow closely by. Birds are also abundant here and over 550 species have been recorded.

It is a bizarrely beautiful breeding ground and home to thousands of Flamingos feeding on the blue algae. Much to see are wildlife like Zebra, wildebeest, gazelle, ostrich, fringe After breakfast Drive with picnic lunches to Lake Natron.
Expect to see vast shallow soda lake and a white carpet of soda and salt crystals cracked in to a polygonal patchwork. Evidently seen are the built flamingo nests resembling miniature volcanoes. It is a bizarrely beautiful breeding ground and home to thousands of Flamingos feeding on the blue algae. Much to see are wildlife like Zebra, wildebeest, gazelle, ostrich, fringed eared Oryx, lesser kudu, gerenuk and golden jackal. You may also be amazed to see volcanic implosion crater.

There is tremendous wildlife viewing opportunities exist at the Maasai Kopjes in Moru Area at Central Serengeti. The craggy hollows and smooth granite crests of these towering granite kopjes are home to one of the Serengeti lions Pride. The nearby swamp, where the rare Bohor reedbuck can be found, is also the famous hunting spot for the resident lion pride. Kopjes are remarkable in that they have their own little ecosystem with a range of vegetation and wildlife including hyrax, mongoose, lizards and birds Black rhinos inhabit the area year-round, but if you want to increase your chances of seeing other animals like wildebeest in Large groups and zebras.
