Train from Dar es Salaam to Mikumi National Park

Early in the morning, transfer to Dar es Salaam Railway Station for your scenic SGR train journey to Mikumi.
Sit back and enjoy the beautiful ride through Tanzania’s countryside, passing small villages, Farms and rolling hills as you head toward the Mikumi.
Upon arrival at Mikumi Railway Station, Meet your professional safari guide and drive to Mikumi National Park for the full day game drive.
As you enter the park, the vast Mkata Floodplain opens before you home to elephants, Lions, Giraffes, Zebras, Buffaloes, Wildebeests and hippos.
You will explore different corners of the park and enjoying the sights and sounds of nature. You will have the lunch break at the picnic site located inside the park.
After lunch continue your game drive visiting the hippo pool where these massive creatures gather and watching the golden savannah glow as the sun begins to set.
In the evening, drive to Tanapa Mikumi Cottages for dinner and overnight stay in peaceful safari atmosphere.

Mikumi National Park & back to Dar es Salaam

After an early breakfast at restaurant around 05:50 Am set out for a morning game drive inside Mikumi National Park when wildlife is most active and the golden morning light paints the savannah. Watch elephants gathering at waterholes, lions on the move in search of prey, and graceful giraffes browsing from tall acacia trees. You may also spot buffaloes, wildebeests, impalas, and colorful bird species across the open plains of the Mkata Floodplain, often called the “mini-Serengeti” for its rich concentration of wildlife.

After an exciting you will pause for a hot lunch at the restaurant located inside the park, then transfer to the Mikumi Railway Station for your afternoon SGR train back to Dar es Salaam.

Enjoy the scenic return journey as you pass through charming rural landscapes and sunset views.

Upon arrival in Dar es Salaam, you’ll be met by our representative and transferred to your hotel or residence, marking the end of your memorable 2-day Mikumi Safari adventure.
