When you arrive at the airport, our friendly team will be there to welcome you and help you get to your hotel. After a long trip, take some time to rest and get comfortable. Later, meet your guide for an important talk about the trek ahead. You will learn about the route, daily plans, safety tips, how to get used to the altitude, and park rules. You can also check your gear one last time. If you need any equipment, we can help you rent or buy it. Enjoy a calm evening, eat a good meal, and get plenty of sleep because your adventure starts tomorrow.

Day 2
Machame Gate to Machame Camp

After breakfast, drive to Machame Gate to meet your mountain crew and register. Begin your exciting trek through a green rainforest alive with monkeys, bright birds, and tropical flowers. The trail can be steep and slippery perfect for adventure lovers! Arrive at Machame Camp in the late afternoon. Relax in your cozy tent, enjoy a warm meal, and watch the stars come out.

Day 3
Machame Camp to Shira Camp

Changing from rainforest to open moorland, great views of Shira Plateau
After breakfast, leave the rainforest and climb into open moorland. Trees become fewer, and the hills are covered with heather. Enjoy wide, stunning views and fresh, cool air. Arrive at Shira Camp in the afternoon. Have a hot meal, watch the beautiful sunset, and rest well under the night sky.
Day 4
Shira Camp to Lava Tower then down to Barranco Camp

Climb Lava Tower for acclimatization, amazing alpine desert views
Today is key to help your body adjust to the altitude. Hike up to Lava Tower through the dry alpine desert with rocky landscapes. Stop for lunch at the top and enjoy the incredible views. Then descend to Barranco Valley, where special plants like giant senecios grow. This “climb high, sleep low” approach helps your body adapt. Arrive at Barranco Camp under the impressive Barranco Wall. Watch the sunset, enjoy dinner, and rest for the night.

Day 5
Barranco Camp to Barafu Camp via Karanga

After breakfast, climb the Barranco Wall a fun but challenging scramble with amazing views of glaciers and valleys. Continue past the Heim Glacier through rocky terrain toward Barafu Camp, your base for the final climb. Rest well, drink plenty of water, and get ready for the long night ahead. Enjoy an early dinner and sleep early the summit climb starts tonight!
Day 6
Barafu Camp to Uhuru Peak then down to Millennium Camp

Highlights: Night climb, sunrise from Uhuru Peak, glacier views
Barafu Camp (4,673 m) to Uhuru Peak (5,895 m) to Millennium Camp (3,100 m)
Wake up before midnight and start the climb by headlamp. Move slowly up the steep, rocky paths. Reach Stella Point at sunrise and enjoy the stunning colors over the glaciers. Continue to Uhuru Peak, the highest point in Africa, and celebrate your amazing achievement with breathtaking views. Begin your descent, stopping briefly at Barafu Camp before heading down to Millennium Camp. Enjoy a warm meal and rest well after this unforgettable day.

After breakfast, walk down through the peaceful rainforest to Mweka Gate. Enjoy the fresh air and sounds of the forest. At the gate, get your official summit certificate to celebrate your amazing achievement. A vehicle will take you back to your hotel in Moshi. Take a shower, have a good meal, and rest after your climb.

Today your adventure ends. After breakfast, take some time to relax and think about your amazing climb. When you’re ready, we’ll drive you to the airport for your flight home.
