Your safari begins with your arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) or Arusha Airport. A professional driver-guide will meet you and transfer you to your mid-range lodge in Arusha. Depending on your arrival time, you can relax by the pool, enjoy views of Mount Meru, or take a short stroll in the town. Arusha is often called the “Safari Capital of Tanzania” and offers a glimpse of local life. Dinner at the lodge completes your first day, preparing you for the adventures ahead.

Day 2

Arusha to Lake Manyara National Park

Arusha to Lake Manyara National Park

After breakfast, you’ll drive about 2 hours to Lake Manyara National Park, located at the base of the Rift Valley escarpment. This park is small but diverse, featuring lake shorelines, acacia woodlands, and dense forests. Famous for tree-climbing lions, large elephant families, flamingos, and thousands of birds, Lake Manyara provides a picturesque introduction to Tanzanian wildlife. Enjoy a morning and early afternoon game drive, stopping for a picnic lunch in the park. By late afternoon, you’ll head to Karatu, a small town near the park, for dinner and overnight at a comfortable lodge or inn.

Today, drive about an hour and a half to Tarangire National Park, famous for its scenic baobab-studded landscapes and large elephant herds. Spend the day on safari, exploring the Tarangire River valley where many animals gather during the dry season. Lions, zebras, giraffes, buffalo, and numerous bird species can be spotted here. Enjoy a picnic lunch in the park and continue your afternoon game drive before heading to your lodge for dinner and relaxation.

Descend into the crater floor for a spectacular game drive surrounded by high crater walls. The crater is home to the Big Five, including black rhinos, lions, elephants, buffalo, and leopards, as well as a variety of birds and hippos.

Enjoy a picnic lunch by the hippo pool before ascending the crater rim and driving back to Arusha, arriving by evening. Your safari ends here with unforgettable memories.
