Nairobi - Lake Naivasha

Depart Nairobi in the morning for a scenic drive along the Great Rift Valley escarpment headed to the Rift Valley town of Naivasha. Make a brief stop at the Rift Valley viewpoint to take some photos and enjoy the sweeping panorama of the valley below with it's dramatic escarpments and the towering Mount Long'onot in the distance. Continue your journey towards Lake Naivasha and stop for a hearty breakfast at Kifaru - Ark a cozy spot offering beautiful countryside views. After breakfast proceed on to Lake Naivasha for a relaxing boat ride across its calm waters where you can spot hippos, fish eagles and a variety of birdlife along the shoreline. Disembark mid-lake at Crescent Island for a guided walking tour among freely roaming wildlife such as zebras, giraffes and antelopes surrounded by the peaceful beauty of the lake. Later on check in at Hotel Chambai for lunch and some leisure time enjoying the serene setting and hospitality that make Naivasha a perfect getaway from the city.

Wake up to a hearty breakfast at your hotel as you take in the fresh Naivasha morning air before setting out for a day of adventure. Begin with a visit to Hell’s Gate National Park a spectacular landscape of towering cliffs, volcanic towers and geothermal features. Explore the park on foot or by bike passing zebras, gazelles and giraffes against a backdrop of rugged rock formations and open plains. After the morning adventure break for lunch at a nearby lodge or restaurant surrounded by the park’s natural beauty.

In the afternoon proceed to Elsamere Conservation Centre which is a former home of Joy Adamson the author of Born Free. Explore the small but fascinating museum dedicated to her life’s work in wildlife conservation then unwind with afternoon tea or coffee by the tranquil lakeside as colobus monkeys play in the trees above. Later begin your journey back to Nairobi arriving in the evening after two wonderful days of exploration, game sightings and relaxation in Naivasha.
