Mombasa/Diani – Ngutuni Wildlife Sanctuary

The safari begins with a scenic drive of approximately 2.5–3 hours from Mombasa or Diani Beach through vibrant landscapes and small towns before reaching Ngutuni Wildlife Sanctuary, a 10,000-acre private conservancy bordering Tsavo East National Park. Upon arrival, guests check in at Ngutuni Safari Lodge, where rooms overlook waterholes frequented by elephants, antelopes, and other wildlife.

After lunch and a short rest, the afternoon is dedicated to a game drive. As the sun begins to set, the savannah comes alive with wildlife activity. Expect sightings of elephants, lions, buffaloes, giraffes, zebras, and an array of bird species. The experience is enriched by a knowledgeable guide who provides insight into animal behavior, conservation efforts, and the delicate ecosystem of the sanctuary. The day concludes with dinner at the lodge and an overnight stay immersed in the sounds of the African bush.

Ngutuni – Taita Hills Wildlife Sanctuary

Following an optional early morning game drive to catch predators and herbivores in the cool of dawn, guests enjoy breakfast before driving approximately one hour to Taita Hills Wildlife Sanctuary, a private conservancy known for its dramatic hills, valleys, and seasonal rivers. Guests check in at Saltlick Lodge, famous for its elevated rooms overlooking a waterhole, where wildlife visits are frequent.

The afternoon offers another game drive, revealing the sanctuary’s rich diversity. Big Five sightings—including lions, leopards, and buffaloes—are possible, along with giraffes, zebras, and lesser-known species like elands and gerenuks. The evening is spent relaxing at the lodge, enjoying meals and the serenity of the wilderness.

The scenic drive back to Mombasa or Diani Beach concludes the safari, offering a reflective journey through Kenya’s diverse landscapes.
