Your adventure begins with an early morning pick-up from your hotel or airport in Dar es Salaam. Enjoy a scenic drive through rural Tanzania, passing traditional villages, palm-fringed landscapes and vast open plains as you make your way to Selous Game Reserve.
Arrive at Selous Kinga Lodge in the early afternoon and check into your comfortable room overlooking the wild bush. After a refreshing lunch break, relax for a while either by swimming at the lodge or walking around. Later, head out for a sunset boat safari along the Rufiji River, one of Selous’ most iconic experiences.
Cruise gently along the river as hippos grunt nearby, birdsong fills the air (special for bird watchers), crocodiles bask on the banks, and elephants come to drink as the golden sun dips below the horizon. Enjoy the peaceful sounds of nature and the glowing reflections on the water, a picture-perfect African sunset.
You will be transferred back to Selous Kinga Lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 2
Game Drive in Selous Game Reserve
Game Drive in Selous Game Reserve
After an early breakfast, set off for a full-day game drive in Nyerere National Park, one of Tanzania’s most diverse wildlife areas. The park is home to an incredible variety of animals, including lions, elephants, giraffes, zebras, buffaloes, wild dogs, hippos, and countless bird species.
Your professional safari guide will take you through different habitats from open woodlands and grasslands to riverine forests, ensuring the best chance to spot wildlife in their natural surroundings. Stop for a picnic lunch at a scenic spot inside the park, surrounded by untouched nature.
After the lunch break, you will continue with the afternoon and the noon game drive.
In the late evening, you will exit the park and enjoy a relaxed drive back to your lodge, watching the wildlife as they prepare for dusk.
Arrive in time for dinner and overnight at Selous Kinga Lodge, where you can unwind and reflect on your incredible day in the African bush.

Day 3
Nature Walking Safari – Return to Dar es Salaam
Nature Walking Safari – Return to Dar es Salaam
Begin your final day with an early morning breakfast, followed by a guided nature walking safari led by an armed ranger and professional guide. This is the perfect way to experience the African wilderness up close, tracking footprints, learning about animal behavior and discovering the small wonders of nature often missed from a vehicle.
After approximately 3 hours of walking exploration, return to the lodge to freshen up. You will then check out and board the safari vehicle for your return to Dar es Salaam.
Later, depart for the scenic drive back to Dar es Salaam, where you’ll be dropped off at your hotel or the airport, marking the end of your thrilling 3-day Selous safari adventure filled with unforgettable memories of Tanzania’s wild beauty.
