Day 1

Nairobi to Maasai Mara

Nairobi to Maasai Mara

Pack your travel gear as the day breaks ready for an early drive from Nairobi towards Maasai-mara with a short stop at the Great Rift Valley viewpoint along the route to enjoy the sweeping escarpment before continuing across the valley floor towards Narok town. As you get closer to the Mara you will come across grass-thatched houses with Maasai herdsmen tending cattle and possibly spot a few zebras along the way welcoming you to the wild. Arrive at the lodge in time for lunch and check in before taking a short rest. Later set out for your first evening game drive as the park comes alive with movement after the hot savannah sun dips down allowing wildlife to come out of hiding. Enjoy the sights and sounds of the savannah with cameras ready for action as lions meticoulously hunt for an evening meal. Capture beautiful sunset moments as the sun sinks behind the acacia-dotted horizon before returning to your lodge for dinner and overnight surrounded by the calls of the African night.

Day 2

Maasai Mara

Maasai Mara

Take early breakfast as dawn paints the Maasai-mara in soft gold and set out across the awakening plains as the wilderness stirs to life. The air is crisp and filled with movement as herds of wildebeest, zebra, and buffalo graze across the shimmering grasslands. Predators still linger from the night’s hunt — lions resting beside their kills, cheetahs scanning the plains for movement, and hyenas trotting in search of scraps. Return to your lodge for lunch and a short rest before setting out again in the late afternoon when the heat eases and the plains awaken once more. Watch elephants move in tight family herds, giraffes feeding gracefully among acacias, and perhaps glimpse a leopard draped over a branch. As the sun melts into the horizon, pause to watch silhouettes of elephants, antelope, and Maasai herdsmen crossing the glowing plains before returning for dinner, campfire, and overnight as lions roar deep into the African night.

Day 3

Maasai Mara - Naivasha

Pack up your bags ready to leave the Maasai-mara after a hearty breakfast cherishing your final glimpses of wildlife scattered across the sunlit plains. Spot herds of zebra and antelope move lazily through the grass as you exit the reserve marking the end of your adventure in the mara. Upon exit stop at a nearby Maasai village for an authentic cultural visit where warriors welcome you with rhythmic dances and stories that celebrate their life beside the wilderness. Continue north through the Great Rift Valley with various stops along the way to stretch or shop for handcrafted souvenirs. The scenic journey reveals shifting landscapes from open plains to lush farmlands dotted with acacias and lively local markets. Arrive at Lake Naivasha by midday and check in at your lodge overlooking the serene waters. After lunch unwind or take a tranquil boat ride to spot hippos and birds before returning for dinner and overnight stay by the lake.

Day 4

Naivasha - Amboseli

Enjoy breakfast by the lake as the morning light shimmers across Naivasha’s calm waters before checking out and starting your journey to Amboseli. The drive unfolds through lush farmlands and lively roadside markets before giving way to open country-side dotted with acacias. As you continue, the scenery transforms into the vast Kilimanjaro ecosystem where dry plains stretch endlessly beneath Africa’s highest peak with sightings of Maasai Manyattas scattered across the landscape and random wildlife encounters signalling a return to yet another wildlife territoty. Arrive at Amboseli by midday and check in at your lodge with stunning views of Mount Kilimanjaro. After lunch set out for an afternoon game drive in the dusty wilderness which makes it perfect breeding zone for huge families of wild elephants. Capture incredible shots of wildlife against the mountain as your guide sweeps the swamps for hippos and birdlife. Return to lodge for overnight stay in the heart of elephant paradise.

Day 5

Set out before sunrise for an early morning game drive across Amboseli’s misty plains capturing the morning sight of Kilimanjaro’s snow-capped peak. Watch the park awaken with life as elephants move in family herds, lions prowl through tall grass and hyenas retreat to their dens after a night of hunting. Return to Serena Amboseli for a hearty breakfast while enjoying panoramic views of the mountain from the lodge terrace. After check-out drive towards Tsavo West passing scattered Maasai manyattas and stretches of volcanic terrain that signal the park’s unique geology. Enter Tsavo West through the Chyulu Gate making a stop by the mysterious Shetani lava flows. Afterwards proceed to Kilaguni Serena Lodge set against rugged hills overlooking a waterhole where animals drink. Drive through the rugged terrain of Tsavo West keeping watch for wildlife along the way as elephants, giraffes and zebras roam across the volcanic plains.
