Upon arrival, our transferring driver will meet and greet you, assist with loading your luggage, and drive you to Airport Planet Lodge. After checking in, you will receive a briefing about the following day’s trek, and your mountain guide will inspect your gear. The rest of the day can be spent relaxing at the lodge, enjoying the pool, or exploring the surrounding area.

Day 2
Machame Camp
Machame Camp
After breakfast, you will be picked up at your hotel at 9:30 AM and driven to the Machame Gate of Mount Kilimanjaro National Park, approximately an hour away. Upon arrival, your guide will complete registration while porters weigh the luggage. You can take a moment to explore the entrance area, observe the local monkeys, or watch the climbing team prepare for the trek.
Once preparations are complete, your Kilimanjaro adventure begins as you enter the lush mountain rainforest, filled with ancient trees and the sounds of the wild. With a little luck, you may spot the striking black-and-white Colobus monkeys among the treetops. After a 5–6 hour hike, you will reach Machame Camp, situated just above the tree line at 3,010 meters. Here, at the base of Mount Kilimanjaro, you will enjoy your first hot dinner on the mountain and spend the night in tents, resting for the days ahead.

Day 3
Shira Camp

After an early breakfast, you will begin your second day of trekking. The trail becomes steeper as the landscape transitions into moorland and heath, opening up to reveal sweeping views of the surrounding mountain ranges. Today’s trek is shorter than the previous day, and you will arrive at Shira Camp by mid-afternoon. The camp offers stunning views of the mountain, and as the sun sets, the Kibo rock face and glacier are bathed in golden light, a truly unforgettable sight.

Today’s trek involves an ascent of approximately 800 meters, though you will camp at only a slightly higher elevation than the previous night. This “climb high, sleep low” approach helps your body acclimatize effectively. The hike begins with a gradual ascent above the Shira Plateau toward Lava Tower at 4,640 meters. As the vegetation thins, the landscape transforms into an Afro-alpine desert, dotted with giant lobelia and senecio plants. You will traverse the expansive Barranco Valley before arriving, after 6 to 7 hours of trekking, at one of the most spectacular camps on the mountain, Barranco Camp, offering breathtaking views and a sense of accomplishment.

Day 5

The day begins with the climb of the iconic Barranco Wall. Safety is a top priority, and your guides will provide assistance as needed. As you follow the ridge, moving up and down, enjoy stunning views of Kibo’s southern glacier. After reaching the Karanga Valley, stop for lunch before continuing with a 2–3 hour ascent to Barafu Camp at 4,640 meters. Once at the camp, take time to relax, enjoy dinner, and get an early night in preparation for the summit push.

Day 6

After a light breakfast of tea and snacks, your summit trek begins around midnight. Climbing by torchlight, you will ascend the scree slopes of Kibo for 5 to 7 hours until reaching Stella Point on the crater rim. From there, a further 1 to 2 hours along the crater ridge leads to Uhuru Peak, Mount Kilimanjaro’s highest point at 5,895 meters. At sunrise, take in the breathtaking 360° views of the surrounding landscape, you are standing on the “Roof of Africa.”
After enjoying the summit and capturing photos of this unforgettable moment, begin the descent along the same route back to Barafu Camp. Here, your porters and cook will have a warm meal ready, allowing for a 1–2 hour rest. The trek then continues down to Mweka Camp at 3,080 meters, where dinner and a well-earned night of rest await.

After breakfast, your Kilimanjaro adventure concludes with a traditional farewell ceremony from the mountain crew. You will then begin a gentle 2–3 hour descent through the rainforest to Mweka Gate, where your transfer driver will be waiting to take you back to Arusha. After a refreshing shower, the remainder of the day is yours to relax, unwind by the pool, or celebrate your incredible achievement.
