Other remarkable species you may encounter include wildebeest, zebra, cheetah, hippo, antelope, impala, and waterbuck.

Each year, more than two million wildebeest and other ungulates journey across the Serengeti in what is widely regarded as Africa’s greatest wildlife spectacle—and perhaps the most awe-inspiring natural event on Earth. Central Serengeti National Park to Ngorongoro

Early in the morning, embark on a game drive toward the Central Serengeti. The Great Migration is typically in this area from late July to mid-October, crossing the famous Mara River into Kenya’s Maasai Mara Reserve before returning to the Serengeti. During this time, you’ll have an excellent chance to witness the dramatic river crossings, where wildebeest face the river’s challenges and predators in action.

Our expert guides will take you to the best vantage points, offering opportunities to observe large prides of lions, be surrounded by migrating herds, and spot hippos in their pools or zebras traveling alongside the wildebeest. The journey takes you from the wide-open plains to the kopjes—volcanic rocky outcrops that provide shelter for wildlife and panoramic views across the endless grasslands.

After an unforgettable day of wildlife encounters, you will be transferred to Farm of Dreams Lodge in Karatu, a drive of approximately 4 to 5 hours.
