After breakfast in Moshi, you’ll be picked up and driven for about 3–4 hours to Londorossi Gate for registration. After completing park formalities, continue to Lemosho Gate, where the adventure begins. Trek through lush rainforest with opportunities to spot colobus monkeys, birds, and beautiful flora. Arrive at Mti Mkubwa Camp (Big Tree Camp) in the afternoon for dinner and overnight rest.

Today’s trek takes you from the forest into the heather and moorland zone. The trail gradually ascends through rolling hills to the Shira Plateau, offering spectacular views of Shira Ridge and Mount Meru in the distance. You’ll reach Shira 1 Camp by afternoon and enjoy dinner under a starry sky.

A crucial acclimatization day. You’ll climb up to Lava Tower at 4,640 m, where you’ll stop for lunch, then descend to Barranco Camp. The route follows the “climb high, sleep low” principle, allowing your body to adjust to higher altitudes. Barranco Camp is set in a stunning valley below the imposing Barranco Wall.

Start your day by conquering the Barranco Wall, a thrilling but non-technical climb that rewards you with magnificent views at the top. Then continue across ridges and valleys before arriving at Karanga Camp for lunch and rest. The afternoon is free for short walks and acclimatization.

Your summit push begins around midnight. Trek slowly and steadily up steep scree slopes to Stella Point (5,739 m), then continue along the crater rim to Uhuru Peak, the highest point in Africa. Celebrate your achievement, take photos, and descend carefully to Barafu Camp for a rest, then continue down to Mweka Camp for your last night on the mountain.
