After breakfast, depart for Tarangire National Park, named after the Tarangire River, often called the “river of warthogs.” During the dry season, this river is the only source of water for wildlife in the area. Tarangire is famous for its elephant herds, which are often seen gathering near the river. You may also spot giraffes, bushbucks, and hartebeests, all closely watched by predators such as lions and leopards. Bird enthusiasts will delight in the incredible variety here, as the park hosts more breeding bird species than anywhere else on the planet.

Day 5
Ngorongoro Crater

You’ll rise early to journey to Ngorongoro Crater, often called the 8th Wonder of the Natural World. Spanning nearly 20 km across and about 610 meters deep, the crater hosts one of the highest concentrations of African wildlife on the continent. In addition to the Big Five, the springs and plains attract wildebeests, gazelles, reedbucks, and more than 500 bird species.
Enjoy lunch at a scenic picnic site before continuing your game viewing. The crater’s varied landscape includes a river, several swamps, a soda lake teeming with flamingos, forests, and open plains. It’s also famous for its elephants, some of the largest in the world with impressive tusks, nourished by the mineral-rich volcanic soil and grasses. Ngorongoro Crater is truly a natural wonder.
By late afternoon, you’ll arrive at your lodge in time to enjoy a stunning sunset and relax after a remarkable day of wildlife exploration.

Lake Manyara National Park

After breakfast, take a short drive to Lake Manyara National Park, enjoying spectacular views of the Great Rift Valley escarpment along the way. Your first wildlife encounter may be with large troops of baboons, and the park is also famous for its tree-climbing lions.
Visit Lake Manyara, an alkaline soda lake teeming with birdlife. Pink flamingos graze in dazzling flocks along the mineral-streaked shores, while yellow-billed storks soar and twist on thermals rising from the escarpment. Herons glide gracefully across the sunlit sky, and even the most casual birdwatchers will be captivated. Keep an eye out for hippos and other wildlife that thrive in this diverse ecosystem.
