Depending on your arrival time, you will have the opportunity to enjoy an Arusha city tour, which includes visits to the vibrant Maasai Market, the renowned Cultural Heritage Centre, and the bustling Arusha local market. Day 2

Arusha to Miriakamba Hut

Arusha to Miriakamba Hut

After breakfast, depart from Arusha and head toward Arusha National Park, enjoying scenic views of Mount Meru and the surrounding landscapes along the way. Upon arrival at Momella Gate, complete all park formalities and meet your armed ranger, who will accompany you throughout the trek for safety and wildlife guidance. Begin your ascent through the lush montane forest, a vibrant ecosystem filled with towering trees, flowing streams, and abundant wildlife. Keep your eyes open for grazing buffalo, elegant giraffes, playful baboons, bushbuck, warthogs, and an array of colorful bird species. The trail gradually climbs, offering beautiful viewpoints overlooking the Momella Lakes and the expansive plains below. After a steady 5–6 hour hike, arrive at Miriakamba Hut, situated on the forested slopes of Mount Meru. Day 3

Miriakamba Hut to Saddle Hut Experience

Depart from Miriakamba Hut and begin your ascent toward the Saddle Hut, situated just below Little Meru. Although it is a relatively short trekking day, the trail becomes noticeably steeper as you climb higher. The path leads slowly along a scenic ridge, offering breathtaking views of the dramatic Meru Crater, its towering walls, and the sweeping landscapes of Arusha National Park below. As you gain elevation, the vegetation thins and the mountain’s alpine environment becomes more prominent.

Upon arrival at Saddle Hut, enjoy a hot lunch and take some time to rest. In the afternoon, embark on a short acclimatization hike to the summit of Little Meru (3,820m). This rewarding excursion provides stunning panoramic views and helps prepare your body for the upcoming summit attempt. Return to Saddle Hut for dinner and overnight.

Saddle Hut to Mount Meru Summit Back Momela Gate

The summit attempt begins very early, at around 1:30 a.m., as you set out under the stars for a steep ascent toward Rhino Point (3,800 m). From here, the trail becomes more challenging as you continue to Cobra Point, where the first light of dawn begins to illuminate the horizon.

Arrive at the summit of Mount Meru (4,566 m) in time to witness a breathtaking sunrise. On clear mornings, you may see the majestic peak of Mount Kilimanjaro rising above the clouds—a truly unforgettable sight. The final stretch to the summit follows a dramatic and narrow ridgeline, with sheer drops into the Meru Crater on one side, making this section both thrilling and visually spectacular.

After celebrating your achievement, begin the descent back to Saddle Hut for a short rest, then continue down to Miriakamba Hut and onward to Momella Gate. Your returning transfer will be waiting at the gate to take you back to Arusha, where you will enjoy dinner and an overnight stay at your hotel.

After breakfast, you will be transferred by road to Tarangire National Park (approximately 2–3 hours of driving). Upon arrival, enjoy a morning game drive, exploring the park’s vast landscapes and searching for its famous large elephant herds along with big cats and other wildlife. Lunch will be served inside the park, allowing you to relax while surrounded by the incredible natural scenery. In the afternoon, continue with an extended game drive, maximizing your chances of spotting diverse wildlife before heading to your accommodation in the late evening for dinner and overnight stay.

After an early breakfast, depart from Karatu and enjoy a scenic transfer game drive toward the Central Serengeti. On the way, stop at the Ngorongoro Crater viewpoint, where you can admire the breathtaking panorama from the rim and capture memorable photos. Continue through the Ngorongoro Highlands, with a cultural visit to a Maasai Boma, where you will experience traditional Maasai dancing, songs, and even try on Maasai attire. You will arrive in the Central Serengeti in time for lunch before heading out for a guided game drive.
