Crossing the equator, you arrive at the world-famous alkaline Lake Nakuru, celebrated for its breathtaking flamingo population and often referred to as one of nature’s greatest wonders. At peak seasons, nearly two million flamingos gather along the shoreline, creating a striking pink rim around the lake. Beyond its birdlife, Lake Nakuru is a protected rhino sanctuary, home to more than 40 black rhinos and over 60 white rhinos, along with buffaloes, giraffes, zebras, and diverse antelope species. You will arrive in time for lunch, followed by an afternoon game drive where you explore the park’s rich landscapes, wildlife-filled forests, and scenic viewpoints. Lake Nakuru / Lake Naivasha National Park

Begin your day with a refreshing morning game drive in Lake Nakuru National Park, exploring its diverse habitats and rich wildlife. After your drive, enjoy lunch en route as you proceed to Lake Naivasha, the highest and one of the most scenic lakes in the Great Rift Valley. Known for its tranquil beauty, Lake Naivasha is a haven for bird watchers, with more than 400 recorded species thriving around its shores. The area is also a popular weekend escape for Nairobi residents who come to enjoy sailing, fishing, and water sports. Although the lake’s cold waters—due to its high altitude—prevent crocodiles from living here, hippos are commonly seen wallowing near the shoreline. Surrounding the lake, fertile vineyards flourish, producing grapes for Kenya’s growing wine industry. The journey to Naivasha offers both relaxation and spectacular landscapes, making it a perfect stop for nature lovers and photographers alike.
