Upon arrival at Bale Mountains National Park (Gessay Grassland), you will have the opportunity to see endemic mammals. Our hike will take us through Gessay Grassland, where we may spot several endemic/endangered mammals, including Menelik’s Bushbuck, Mountain Nyala, Warthog, Reedbuck, and Gray Duikers. Additionally, we will look for Ethiopian endemic birds such as the Abyssinian Flycatcher, Wattled Ibis, and Abyssinian Catbird, which can be found in both Gessay Grassland and Bodeti Mountain.
Overnight: Dinsho Campsite at 3,100 meters above sea level.

Day 2
Trek from Dinsho (Gessay) to Habera
Trek from Dinsho (Gessay) to Habera
We will start our trek from Dinsho and enter the national park. This day’s hike will allow us to explore the stunning landscapes of the Bale Mountains, with a chance to see the rare Ethiopian Wolves and birds of prey. We will camp near the seasonal Fincha Habera waterfall.
Overnight: Habera Campsite at 3,500 meters above sea level. Distance: 18 km hike.

Day 3
Trek from Habera to Adeley
Trek from Habera to Adeley
After breakfast, we will head towards Adelay, traversing the Web Valley area and passing through the woodland regions of the national park. This hike offers opportunities to see the endangered Ethiopian Wolf, Giant Mole Rat, and various endemic birds of Ethiopia.
Overnight:Adeley Campsite at 3,400 meters above sea level. Distance: 18 km hike.

Day 4
Hike down to Dinsho
Hike down to Dinsho
In the morning, after breakfast, we will hike down to Dinsho, which takes about two hours through the northern woodlands and grasslands. During this hike, we will pass through Hygienia and Juniper tree forests, where we can spot mammals such as the Olive Baboon, Menelik’s Bushbuck, Mountain Nyala, Bohor Reedbuck, and numerous bird species. After completing our trek, we will meet our driver to head back to the airport for a flight departing at 15:00 pm to Addis Ababa.

Day 5

You'll meet in the morning at Gondar Airport or your hotel. You'll drive to Debark, the national park headquarters, to obtain entry permits and meet your scout. You'll enjoy a coffee break and visit the local market if time permits.
From Debark, you'll drive 16 km to the park gate, where you’ll begin your trek. The starting point will be flexible based on your interests. You'll experience stunning escarpment views and diverse plant species as you trek to Sankaber Camp for your first camp 3250masl.

Day 6

After breakfast, you'll trek 15 km to Gich Camp, taking approximately 7 hours. You'll walk along the escarpment with breathtaking views 800m above the foothills. You'll encounter Giant Heather, Abyssinian Rose, and possibly Gelada baboons, Klipspringers, and even leopards.
The highlight of your trek will be a visit to Jinba Waterfalls, Ethiopia's longest fall at 500m. You'll spot various vultures from the viewpoint, then enjoy a picnic by the Jinba River near a serene waterfall.
Before reaching Gich Camp, you can visit a traditional village house for coffee and local culture. After settling in, you can take an optional sunset trek to Kedadit (3,786m) for panoramic views before returning to camp for dinner camp at Gich 3600masl.

Day 7

You'll trek 7-8 hours along the best route in the Simien Mountains. En route, you'll visit Imet Gogo (3,926m), renowned for its breathtaking 360-degree views of canyons and cliffs.
After Imet Gogo, you'll descend to the valley of Meflekiaw, then climb 500 meters to Enatye (4,070m), the day's highest point. From there, you'll descend to Chenek Camp (3,600m), where you'll encounter Gelada baboons and possibly Walia ibex relaxing nearby. Your overnight stay will be at Chenek Camp 3620masl.

You'll depart from Chenek Camp (3,620m) early in the morning. You will hike 12 km over 5-6 hours, including breaks. You'll ascend approximately 600m to Bwahit Pass (4,200m), a key point for those aiming for Ras Dashen.
If conditions permit, you'll continue to the summit of Ras Bwahit (4,430m), one of the region’s highest peaks. After enjoying the views, you'll descend back to Chenek.
Your vehicle will then take you along a rough 58 km road to Debark, followed by a smooth drive back to Gondar and fly back to Addis.
