Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro or Arusha Airport, your private driver-guide will greet you and transfer you to the peaceful Pink Flamingo Hotel in Moshi. This first day is reserved for rest after your journey. Settle into your boutique accommodation and enjoy its calm atmosphere and attentive service. Your safari adventure begins the next morning after a comfortable and refreshing overnight stay.

Day 2

Moshi to Mkomazi National Park

Moshi to Mkomazi National Park

After breakfast, your private safari guide will pick you up for a scenic drive to Mkomazi National Park. As you approach the area, enjoy sweeping views of the Usambara and Pare mountain ranges. Your adventure begins with a visit to the Mkomazi Rhino Sanctuary, home to the rare black rhino and an important African wild dog breeding program.
During your game drive, you may also spot giraffes, elands, hartebeest, zebras, buffalo, lions, elephants, and the unique long-necked gerenuk. After a full day of exploration, you’ll head to your lodge for dinner and an overnight stay, surrounded by the natural beauty of Mkomazi.

Day 3

After an early breakfast, you will spend the day exploring Mkomazi’s remarkable birdlife and enjoying a guided walking safari. With more than 450 recorded species, including Martial Eagles, Kori Bustards, ostriches, weavers, and migratory Eurasian birds, Mkomazi is a true paradise for bird enthusiasts.
Your morning walk, led by an armed park ranger, takes you through areas such as Dindira or along the scenic route from Zange HQ to Babus. This experience allows you to connect closely with the landscape and observe birds and wildlife at ground level. After lunch, continue with a relaxed afternoon game drive or choose an optional second walk. You will return to your lodge in the evening for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 4

After breakfast, you will depart for Materuni, a traditional Chagga village nestled on the lush slopes of Mount Kilimanjaro. You will hike to the stunning Materuni Waterfalls through beautiful greenery, with views of Kilimanjaro on clear days. Along the way, your guide will introduce you to Chagga traditions and daily life. After time to relax at the falls, and possibly swim, you will return to the village for an authentic coffee making experience. From bean picking to roasting and grinding, you will prepare your own cup while enjoying local songs and dances.
To complete the experience, enjoy a freshly cooked Chagga style lunch prepared by local mamas, featuring dishes such as banana stew, pilau, or rice and beans. It is a rich, hands on cultural day in the heart of Kilimanjaro’s heritage.
After the activity, you will head to your accommodation in Moshi for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 5-6

Tarangire National Park

Early in the morning after breakfast, you will depart for Tarangire National Park. The park takes its name from the Tarangire River, which flows through it. Known as the river of warthogs, it serves as the main water source for wildlife during the dry season. The park features diverse vegetation, including elephant grass, acacia woodlands, and lush groundwater forests.
Tarangire is famous for its elephant herds, often seen gathered near the river, and you may also spot giraffes, bushbucks, and hartebeests. Predators such as lions and leopards frequently follow these animals, creating exciting wildlife viewing opportunities. The park also boasts more breeding bird species than any other place on Earth.
After lunch and an extensive game drive, you will proceed to our partner tented lodges for dinner and an overnight stay.

After breakfast, you will head to the far south of Serengeti National Park, into the stunning Ndutu area, which lies within the Ngorongoro Conservation Area and forms a vital part of the southern Serengeti ecosystem. Ndutu is famous for the annual wildebeest calving season and is also a paradise for birdwatchers, with over 400 species recorded.
The region offers a variety of habitats, including seasonal alkaline lakes, acacia woodlands, open plains, and swamps, providing perfect conditions for diverse birdlife. Lake Ndutu, with its alkaline waters, attracts large flocks of flamingos, stilts, avocets, and plovers. The surrounding woodlands are home to species such as the Bare-faced Go-away-bird, Silverbird, and the striking Lilac-breasted Roller. Keep an eye on the skies and grasslands for raptors like Martial Eagles, Bateleurs, and Secretary Birds.

After an early breakfast, you will continue your game drive across the Ndutu plains, taking time to slow down and explore the diverse birdlife of the region.
The Ndutu area comes alive during the calving season. While the spectacle of over 8,000 wildebeest births per day is dramatic, the skies and bushes are just as active. Many migratory birds are also present at this time, making it an exceptional experience for both novice and experienced birdwatchers.
Expect sightings of colorful species such as Fischer’s Lovebird, Grey-headed Kingfisher, Yellow-throated Sandgrouse, and Chestnut-bellied Sandgrouse. Look in the trees for the elusive Pearl-spotted Owlet and the melodic White-browed Coucal. The grasslands and lakesides attract Kori Bustards, Crowned Lapwings, and groups of helmeted guineafowl moving among the shrubs.
The day is designed to offer a balanced experience, combining the drama of the wildebeest calving with the beauty and diversity of the region’s birdlif.

Famous for its vast open plains, the Serengeti offers sweeping views perfect for spotting big game such as lions, elephants, buffalo, and the endless herds of wildebeest and zebras. This area is also the heart of the Great Migration during certain times of the year.
For bird enthusiasts, Central Serengeti is a true hidden gem. The Seronera River Valley, with its mix of woodland, grassland, and riverine habitats, supports a rich variety of birds. Look out for superb starlings, African hoopoes, and Red-cheeked Cordon-bleus flitting through the bush. Early in the morning after breakfast, you will continue with a scenic drive through Serengeti National Park before departing for Ngorongoro Crater. At first sight, Ngorongoro Crater feels like a hidden world. Enclosed by steep volcanic walls, it reveals a pristine wilderness of sweeping savannahs, patches of acacia woodland, and sparkling lakes and swamps.
The Crater was formed when a large volcano erupted and collapsed two to three million years ago. It is renowned both for its geological features and as a natural reserve home to some of the densest populations of large mammals in Africa. The drive down into the Crater is an adventure in itself. On reaching the Crater floor, you will find yourself among large numbers of wildebeest, zebras, gazelles, and over 500 bird species. The Crater also offers the best chance to spot the endangered black rhino in the open grasslands.
