Arrival and Transfer to Nyungwe National Park

Morning: Arrival at Kigali International Airport, our representative will warmly welcome you and lead you to the VIP lounge, assist with all the immigration procedures, sort your luggage and later introduce you to your driver guide. Proceed on a scenic drive to South Western Rwanda with a stop over at the King's Palace in Nyanza.

Later, proceed to Nyungwe and arrive at Nyungwe Top View Hill Hotel assisted with check in followed by lunch. The rest of the day is at leisure preparing for the chimpanzee trekking the next day.

Chimpanzee Tracking

You will get up early to be transferred to the park headquarters at 05h00 with a delicious packed
breakfast. After an insightful chimpanzee trek briefing, you’ll be escorted to the Evergreen Forest and the adventure begins.

During the trek, you are likely to spot several bird species, monkeys, reptiles. Upon encountering the chimps, you will spend 1 hour with them as you watch them play, feed and their movements. Lunch at the hotel.

Optional Zipline & Canopy Walk Way/Road Transfer to Volcanoes National Park

06h30: Breakfast at the hotel, check out and settle any extras before transferring to the park headquarters for a Zipline and Canopy experience which starts at 08h00. Both experiences take about 2 hours to finish. Later embark on a scenic drive to Volcanoes National Park.

You will have lunch enroute at a recommended restaurant before proceeding to Musanze, arrive in the evening, check in, freshen up and relax.

Gorilla Trekking

Early breakfast at the lodge then transfer to the park headquarters in time for Gorilla Trek briefing which starts at 07h00. After the briefing and allocation of gorilla families and park guides, drive to the start point of your guided walk that begins at 08h00. Here, your amazing adventure begins.

A gorilla family is led by a silverback and the troops also include several younger males, adult and juvenile females, and infants. In addition to providing protection to group members, silverbacks maintain order and decide all activities within their troop. They schedule feeding trips, resting time, and travel. They also father the majority of the young in the group.

After this memorable experience, you will return, freshen up and have lunch. Afternoon just relax at the lodge. Dinner and Overnight stay.

Optional Golden Monkey Trek/Departure

On this day, you will check out and settle extras. If you decide to do the Golden Monkey trek you will be transferred to the park headquarters for briefing at 07h00. Later transfer to the start point for the trek.

The golden monkey trek experience is not as strenuous as the gorilla trek and usually guests return between 10h00 - 11h00. En route you will visit the Gorilla Guardians Village for a cultural experience before returning to the lodge, freshen up and check out and transfer to Kigali for departure.
