Arusha to Serengeti Ndutu Area to Witness Wildebeest Migration Calving Season

You will be picked up from Kilimanjaro International Airport or your hotel in Arusha and begin your drive to the Serengeti Ndutu area. Upon arrival you will start your game drive and enjoy the opportunity to see a variety of wildlife, with special attention to the Great Migration. You will have lunch at a suitable picnic spot inside the park.

In the afternoon, you will continue with your game drive as you explore the Ndutu area and its rich wildlife. Later, you will proceed to your camp for dinner and an overnight stay.

The Great Migration is the largest movement of wildebeest, zebras and other animals across the Serengeti and Maasai Mara ecosystem. During the calving season, thousands of wildebeest give birth to their young. The best time to visit the Ndutu area for the calving season is from mid December to early April each year.

Explore Wildebeest Migration Winter Calving Season to Ngorongoro Highlands

Today wake up early and enjoy the great migration in Serengeti Ndutu then in the afternoon, depart to Ngorongoro for your overnight at the accommodation located on the Ngorongoro Crater Rim. This gives you a chance to descend inside the Crater the next day in the early morning and see many animals when they are still more active.

The great migration is the largest herd movement of wildebeests, zebras and other animals gathering together for calving season. Wildebeests give birth at this time. The best time to visit is from mid-December to early April every year.

Ngorongoro Crater Game Drive Back to Arusha Airport/Town

In the morning you will descend into the spectacular Ngorongoro Crater for your game drives. As you enter this vast natural bowl, you’ll be greeted by sweeping views and an incredible concentration of wildlife. The crater is home to lions, elephants, buffalo, zebras and the rare black rhino, all sustained by its permanent water sources.

Covering about 260 square kilometers, Ngorongoro Crater is the largest uninterrupted caldera in the world and proudly stands as one of Africa’s Natural Wonders. After completing your game drives, you will ascend the crater and drive back to Arusha Airport, where your safari officially comes to an end.
