Today we head to Lake Manyara National Park, a hidden gem celebrated for its dramatic scenery and rich wildlife. On your full-day game drive, keep your eyes open for tree-climbing lions, large troops of baboons, and a dazzling variety of birdlife along the lake’s edge. As the day winds down, we’ll continue to Africa Safari Manyara Escarpment camp, where comfort and relaxation await after your adventure.

Start the day with an adventurous waterfall hike guided by a Maasai, passing traditional villages along the way. You will visit the Engaresero Footprint Site, where over 400 fossilized hominid footprints, between 5,000–19,000 years old, reveal ancient behaviors. Some appear to jog, others show unusual toes, and many indicate groups of women and children travelling together. This remarkable site offers a rare glimpse into human history amid stunning landscapes.

Join a Maasai guide for a “Flamingo Walk” along Lake Natron, where endangered lesser flamingos paint the alkaline waters pink. Hike to waterfalls, passing villages and wild scenery. End the day with a scenic drive to Africa Safari Maasai Boma lodge, inspired by a traditional boma, where you’ll be immersed in Maasai culture overnight.

As night falls, switch to a thrilling night game drive through the Ikona Wildlife Management Area, where nocturnal animals emerge and the wilderness transforms under the stars. Later you will return to the camp for a restful night in the heart of the African wild.

As the day winds down, return to the lodge for a serene evening under the vast Serengeti sky.

All good things must come to an end! Enjoy your last meal at the lodge prior to checking out and readying for your journey to Arusha. After meeting your driver-guide at reception, you will head off on an easy two-hour drive back to where it all started. Drop off will be somewhere in Arusha or at Arusha Airport. An additional transfer to Kilimanjaro Airport can be arranged for an extra cost.
