Addis Ababa – Dinsho – Bale Mountains National Park

Depart early from Addis Ababa and drive south through scenic farmland, crater lakes, and highland landscapes. Arrive at Dinsho Park Headquarters for registration and a guided walk to spot endemic wildlife such as the Mountain Nyala, Menelik’s Bushbuck, and warthogs. Continue to the Harenna Forest, one of Ethiopia’s last natural cloud forests, known for its rare Bale monkeys and rich birdlife. Enjoy a relaxing evening at your lodge with dinner and stunning mountain views.

Sanetti Plateau – Harenna Forest – Return to Addis Ababa

After breakfast, drive to the Sanetti Plateau—Africa’s highest all-weather road—home of the Ethiopian Wolf, the world’s rarest canid. Explore the Afro-alpine landscape, stopping at viewpoints overlooking the vast moorlands. Continue down to the lush Harenna Forest for a short hike among giant Hagenia trees and bamboo stands. After lunch, begin the drive back to Addis Ababa, arriving in the evening to end your incredible mountain adventure.
