Arusha to Tarangire National Park

We will pick you up from your hotel in Arusha in the morning and drive to Tarangire National Park, famous for its ancient baobab trees and largest elephant. Upon arrival begin exploring the park’s diverse habitats, from savannas and riverine areas to woodland regions. Keep your eyes open for elephants moving in large herds, lions resting under acacia trees, giraffes browsing the treetops, zebras grazing, wildebeests roaming, and a rich variety of birdlife adding color to the scenery.

Around midday, pause for a picnic lunch near the Tarangire River, where you can relax while observing wildlife interacting along the riverbanks and taking in the sounds of the bush. Afterwards, continue your afternoon game drive, exploring more corners of the park and enjoying additional wildlife sightings. In the late afternoon, Drive to The Retreat at Ngorongoro, where you will have dinner and spend the night, resting and preparing for the next day’s adventure into the Ngorongoro Crater.

Ngorongoro Crater to Arusha

After breakfast at The Retreat at Ngorongoro, you will head to the Ngorongoro Crater for a morning game drive in this iconic natural wonder. Explore the crater floor, home to buffalo, wildebeests, zebras, hippos, and, with luck, the elusive black rhino, along with lions, hyenas, and numerous bird species. The dramatic volcanic cliffs, rolling plains, and lush green areas provide a stunning backdrop for photography and wildlife encounters.

Around midday, enjoy a picnic lunch amidst the crater’s breathtaking scenery, surrounded by wildlife activity, volcanic cliffs, and open plains. After lunch, continue with a short game drive, visiting different parts of the crater floor to maximize sightings and take in the incredible landscapes. In the afternoon, ascend from the crater and drive back to Arusha, where you will be transferred to your hotel, concluding your unforgettable two-day safari adventure.
