The park is especially famous for its impressive herds of elephants, often seen gathering along the riverbanks. During your game drive, you may also spot giraffes, bushbucks, hartebeest, and a variety of other plains game, while predators such as lions and leopards are frequently found nearby. Towering ancient baobab trees, some estimated to be over a thousand years old, dominate the landscape and add to the park’s unique character. Lake Manyara National Park

This morning, you will drive to Lake Manyara National Park, your final destination on this epic safari! Lake Manyara National Park is a small but diverse park 120km away from Arusha. Everything you will see here is on a different scale. It is both compact (one of the narrowest parks in Africa) and epic (the Great Rift Escarpment towers over Lake Manyara’s western boundary). The park’s namesake is a shallow Salt Lake. It covers a large area of the park, flooding and drying with the seasons, and is home to thousands of wading birds (including flamingos and over 500 other bird species). You may see baboons and elephants in the park’s thick evergreen forest and look out for the tree-climbing lions that have become famous throughout Africa.

After your game drive, we will drop you off at the airport in Arusha or Kilimanjaro. We hope you have enjoyed your adventure with Wild Experience Safaris!
