Day 1
Fly from Entebbe to the Misty Heart of Bwindi
Fly from Entebbe to the Misty Heart of Bwindi
Your day starts with a flight from Entebbe and onto a short domestic hop to Kihihi Airstrip. From there, you journey into the verdant highlands and descend into the ancient rainforest of Bwindi. About an 1hour 30 minutes from Kihihi, you arrive at Silverback Lodge, perched high above the forest canopy.
Stepping into your room — one of just 12 guest rooms at the lodge — you’re immediately immersed in comfort and nature. Each room features a private veranda with sweeping forest views. Imagine sitting on your veranda, mist drifting through the trees, birdsong fading with the setting sun — the lush greenery stretching as far as the eye can see. After settling in, you enjoy a delicious dinner paired with a soft drink or a house wine, preparing for the adventure ahead. The forest hums softly around you; you’ve arrived at a place where time slows and nature becomes your companion.

Day 2
Into the Jungle Face to Face with a Mountain Gorilla Family
Into the Jungle Face to Face with a Mountain Gorilla Family
At dawn, you join other trekkers for a briefing with the park rangers — then step into the forest, heart pounding with anticipation. The trek leads you through tangled vines, giant trees, and the damp earth of one of Africa’s oldest rainforests. And then — the moment you came for. Quiet rustling in the undergrowth, cautious movement among leaves, and before you know it, you come face-to-face with a gorilla family. For one magical hour, you observe a silverback, mothers with infants, juveniles climbing among branches — alive, curious, peaceful. It’s a moment that stays with you long after the forest fades behind you.
Returning to Silverback Lodge feels like coming home — but home at the edge of the wild. Lunch is served with fresh local ingredients; afternoons are yours to enjoy. You might choose to stroll the gardens or relax on your veranda, watching monkeys and birds, or simply soak in the silence and the forest scents.
