Continue to the Erta Ale Volcano, trekking over lava fields and desert terrain to reach the rim of the active lava lake. On this semi-participation tour, guests assist with camp chores like setting up tents and meal prep, adding a hands-on adventure element. Begin the final day by exploring remote Afar villages, observing traditional lifestyles, salt harvesting, and desert survival techniques. Trek across the vast, shimmering salt flats, witnessing the dramatic landscapes and meeting local salt miners. Guests participate in semi-participation camp chores, helping pack tents and prepare for the journey. Afterward, drive to Mekele for a connecting flight back to Addis Ababa. Upon arrival, enjoy free time for sightseeing or shopping in the city. The day concludes with a memorable reflection on the extreme landscapes and cultural experiences encountered over the past three days.
