Nairobi to the Maasai Mara National Reserve

You will meet the Wiinroots Adventures Team at the airport for a meet-and-greet and pickup session. Afterwards, you will proceed with a road transfer to the Maasai Mara National Reserve, where you will check in at Mara Engai Lodge for lunch and enjoy a 2-hour sundowner as you relax after your long journey by plane and road.

At 1600 hrs, we believe you will be fully refreshed, and we will take you on an exciting game drive. During the drive, we will aim to spot lions, leopards, cheetahs, hyenas, and also enjoy some bird watching. Along the way, you will also encounter other wildlife such as zebras, giraffes, elephants, and antelopes.

After the game drive, we will return to the lodge to relax and enjoy Maasai traditional stories, followed by a wildlife documentary by the campfire at Mara Engai Lodge. You will then have dinner and retire for the night in preparation for an early start the following day.

Masai Mara National Reserve

You will wake up early for a morning game drive followed by a hot air balloon safari. After the balloon experience, you will enjoy a bush breakfast inside the park and continue with morning game drives. By this time, you will likely have spotted lions, leopards, cheetahs, and various birds, and we will now focus on elephants, buffaloes, antelopes, and rhinos with the goal of seeing all the Big Five. You will also enjoy the scenic views of the savannah.

At lunchtime, you will have a picnic meal, with the option to return to the lodge if you feel tired or continue with the afternoon game drive, still searching for elephants, rhinos, buffaloes, antelopes, and other wildlife. As sunset approaches, you will have another chance to spot lions, leopards, cheetahs, and birds.

After the drive, we will return to the lodge for a short break before visiting a Maasai village for a two-hour cultural experience. You will then head back to the lodge for dinner and rest.

Maasai Mara National Reserve – Serengeti National Park

You will wake up early, prepare for the day, and have breakfast at Mara Engai Lodge before checking out. Our Kenyan guide will transfer you to the Kenya–Tanzania border at Isebania, where you will complete immigration procedures. After clearing the border, our Tanzanian guide will pick you up and drive you to Ang’ata Serengeti, located in Central Serengeti. You will arrive after lunchtime, so you will have an en-route lunch on the way.

Upon arrival, you will check in and proceed for an afternoon game drive. However, you also have the option to relax at the camp since you will already enjoy an en-route game drive from the park gate to the lodge. After the game drive, you can relax at the camp and enjoy bird watching and guided nature walks within the area.

In the evening, gather around the campfire for stories about the Serengeti and the Maasai people, followed by dinner. Afterwards, you will retire for the night and rest for the next day.

Full-Day Game Drive at Serengeti National Park

Today you will enjoy a full-day game drive, followed by an evening or night game drive.
You will start early in the morning by tracking lions, leopards, cheetahs, and observing various bird species. After this, you will have a bush breakfast and continue with your morning game drive. Later, you will enjoy a picnic lunch before proceeding with the afternoon game drive.

Since you will also experience a night game drive, we will return to the lodge earlier so you can freshen up, relax, and prepare for the evening or night game drive accompanied by a ranger.

We believe you will have the chance to see a wide variety of wildlife, including wildebeests depending on the season—though they are often present in Central Serengeti.

After the night game drive, you will return to the lodge for dinner and overnight rest.

Serengeti National Park – Ngorongoro Crater

You will wake up, prepare for the day, take breakfast, and check out for your transfer to Ngorongoro. Along the way, you will enjoy en-route game drives from Serengeti toward the main gate, and again from the gate toward Ang’ata Ngorongoro Camp. You will carry a picnic lunch from Ang’ata Serengeti and enjoy it en route, allowing the guide to drive at a relaxed pace so you can fully experience the wildlife and scenery.

Upon arrival, you will check in at Ang’ata Ngorongoro Camp after taking in the beautiful crater rim views and enjoying additional en-route game drives.

You will have time to relax and enjoy nature walks around the camp as you wait for dinner.

After dinner, you will retire for the night.

Ngorongoro Crater

This marks one of the highlights of your adventure as we descend into the Ngorongoro Crater, the original home of a remarkable wildlife kingdom. You will start the day by waking up, preparing, taking breakfast, and checking out of the camp.

We will then descend into the crater, where you will enjoy an unforgettable game drive. Here, you can expect to see lions, leopards, wildebeests, zebras, and pink flamingos, as well as the stunning crater landscape itself. The crater is one of the best places to see a wide variety of animals in their natural habitat.

You will have a picnic lunch in the crater before your transfer to your next destination, which could be Arusha Airport, Arusha City, or Nairobi, depending on your travel plans.
