Day 2

Fly to Serengeti National Park and an evening game drive

Fly to Serengeti National Park and an evening game drive

On this day, you'll have breakfast at the lodge. You'll then embark on a drive to Arusha Airport for your flight to Seronera Airstrip in Central Serengeti. Your guide will already be waiting for you at the airstrip, and upon arrival, you'll drive to the lodge for relaxation and lunch, while spotting animals like gazelles, elands, zebras, and others. After lunch, you'll embark on an evening game drive. The evening game drive will give you opportunities to spot big cats such as leopards, cheetahs, lions, and hyenas. You'll also see other members of the Big 5, such as elephants and buffalo. Other animals you'll see include zebras, wildebeest, and giraffes. After that, you'll head back to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Full-Day game drives in Serengeti National Park

Full-Day game drives in Serengeti National Park

On this day, you'll spend the full day doing game drives in Central Serengeti. The game drives will allow you to spot herds of buffalo, elephants, prides of lions as they relax or look for prey, thousands of wildebeest and zebras migrating, gazelles roaming the savannah plains, and others. At lunch time, you'll head back to the lodge for hot lunch and then head back for another afternoon/evening game drive. After that, you'll return to the lodge for well-deserved relaxation and overnight.

Begin your day by having breakfast early in the morning and heading to Tarangire National Park. Tarangire National Park is located in northern Tanzania and is famous for its large elephant herds and massive baobab trees. During the dry season, it attracts large migrations of wildebeest, zebras, and other animals to the Tarangire River, making it a prime destination for wildlife viewing, particularly from June through October. The park offers a variety of activities, including game drives, which allow you to see many animals, including wildebeest, zebras, lions, elephants, buffalo, and plants such as the giant baobab trees. Amidst the game drive, you'll have your packed lunch, and then later, you'll head to Arusha for dinner and overnight.

You'll wake up for breakfast and prepare to leave the lodge. You'll then drive to Kilimanjaro Airport, where you'll embark on a flight to Kigali. Upon arrival in Kigali, your driver-guide will be waiting for you at Kigali International Airport. He'll welcome you, and he'll drive you to the hotel for dinner and an overnight stay.

You'll have breakfast at ease, and after that, you will embark on a city tour of Kigali. You'll visit the Kigali Genocide Memorial Center, a place that was built to commemorate the people who lost their lives to the anti-human tragedy (Genocide) that befell the people of Rwanda in 1994, as you listen to the stories of what happened. You'll also visit the Kimironko market for shopping for fruits and arts and crafts if you're interested. You'll then embark on a journey to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, having lunch en route, where you will check in at the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Gorilla trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

After breakfast, you will drive to the Park Headquarters for a briefing about the dos and don’ts for gorilla trekking. This exercise is to prepare you for the great lifetime experience of the natural beauty, which starts with the first phase of tracking in the tropical forest that will provide comfort to fill the natural cool breeze of the park. In a group of 8, you'll follow a guide and 2 rangers, and as you're trekking, look out for other primates like monkeys, baboons, and bird species, as this will make the trek enjoyable. Once you find the gorillas, you’ll spend an hour in their presence, taking pictures, videos as long as you adhere to the rules and regulations of the activity. After your gorilla trek activity, you’ll return to the lodge for relaxation, dinner, and overnight.

Your last day of the 9-day Tanzania-Uganda wildlife and gorilla safari begins with waking up and having breakfast. You then check out of the lodge, pack your bags, and embark on a journey back to Kigali International Airport, having lunch en route. Upon arrival, your driver-guide will say goodbye, and this will mark the end of the safari.
