Day 1

After your arrival, you'll begin your journey towards Lake Manyara National Park for a game drive in one of Tanzania’s most scenic and varied parks, stretching from dense groundwater forest to open floodplains beneath the Great Rift Valley escarpment. Wildlife sightings may include elephants, giraffes, buffalo, baboons, hippos, and an impressive variety of birdlife.

Before lunch, enjoy the Lake Manyara Canopy Walkway, an elevated treetop experience that offers a fresh perspective of the forest and its inhabitants. A picnic lunch will then be served inside the park, allowing you to relax and enjoy the surroundings. In the afternoon, you'll continue your game drive toward the lakeshore until around 4:00 pm, where you'll take part in a guided canoeing experience, safely gliding along the water to observe hippos and water birds up close. This day combines classic safari game viewing with light adventure activities, all within the park.

Drive Towards Serengeti National Park

Drive Towards Serengeti National Park

After breakfast, depart Karatu and begin your journey toward Serengeti National Park, passing through the scenic Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Along the way, enjoy changing landscapes from highland farmland to open plains, with a brief stop at a viewpoint overlooking the Ngorongoro Crater. The drive offers insight into local life, including views of Maasai villages and grazing lands.

As you enter the Serengeti, the scenery opens into vast savannahs stretching to the horizon. A game drive begins upon entry, with opportunities to spot wildlife such as giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, elephants, and predators roaming the plains. A picnic lunch will be enjoyed en route. In the late afternoon, continue toward Tanzania Bush Camp, a mid-range tented lodge at the heart of Serengeti, for dinner and a comfortable overnight stay.

Exploring the vast Serengeti savannah

Spend a full day immersed in the vast open landscapes of Serengeti National Park, one of Africa’s most celebrated wildlife destinations. With its endless savannahs and scattered acacia trees, the Serengeti offers exceptional opportunities for game viewing throughout the day. Accompanied by your experienced guide, you will explore different areas of the park in search of wildlife, following animal movements and seasonal patterns.

Sightings may include large prides of lions, cheetahs, leopards, elephants, giraffes, zebras, and vast herds of wildebeest and antelope. The open terrain allows for excellent photography and uninterrupted wildlife observation. A picnic lunch will be enjoyed at a scenic spot inside the park, allowing you to relax while surrounded by nature.

After lunch, continue with afternoon game drives, taking in the changing light and increased animal activity before returning to your lodge or camp in the evening for dinner and overnight.

After an early breakfast, enjoy a final morning game drive in the Serengeti, spotting wildlife across the iconic savannah one last time.

Depart the park and drive south to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, passing scenic highlands and Maasai villages.

Arriving at the crater rim, descend into the Ngorongoro Crater for an afternoon game drive, where lions, elephants, zebras, wildebeest, hippos, and diverse birdlife roam. This part of the tour provides the chance to spot the final member of the famous Big 5 (Rhino).

After exploring this natural wonder, ascend to the highlands and continue to your lodge in Karatu for dinner and a restful overnight stay.
