Arrival in Kigali & Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, Uganda

Arrive at Kigali International Airport (KGL), Rwanda. Meet your guide and begin the transfer immediately.
Drive: The scenic drive from Kigali to the southern sector of Bwindi takes approximately 4-5 hours, including the border crossing formalities at the Cyanika or Katuna border posts. This route is much shorter than driving from Entebbe, Uganda. Evening: Check into your lodge near the park, have dinner, and prepare your gear for the early morning gorilla trek.

Gorilla Trekking & Transfer back to Kigali, Rwanda

Morning: Early breakfast and head to the park headquarters for a briefing at 7:30 AM.
Gorilla Trekking: Begin your trek into the forest. The activity can take anywhere from 2 to 8 hours depending on the location of the habituated gorilla family. You will spend one unforgettable hour with the mountain gorillas once located.
Afternoon: Receive your trekking certificate, have lunch at the lodge, and immediately begin the drive back to Kigali (approx. 4-5 hours drive, including the border crossing).
Evening: Arrive in Kigali and check into your hotel for dinner and rest.

Kigali City Tour & Transfer to Akagera National Park, Rwanda

Morning: Enjoy a late start and a Kigali City Tour. A visit to the Kigali Genocide Memorial is highly recommended for a profound understanding of Rwanda's history and resilience.
Afternoon: Have lunch in Kigali and begin the drive to Akagera National Park in Eastern Rwanda (approx. 2.5 hours). Akagera is Rwanda's only savannah park and home to the Big Five.
Evening: Check into your lodge inside Akagera National Park, ready for an early start for the game drive tomorrow. Dinner and Overnight.

Full-Day Big Five Game Drive in Akagera National Park

Morning/Afternoon: Set out on a full-day game drive through Akagera. Your primary goal is to spot the Big Five (Lion, Leopard, Rhino, Elephant, and Buffalo). Akagera is the only place in Rwanda where you can find all five.
Tip: Focus on the northern plains for the best chances of seeing lions and rhinos, which were successfully reintroduced to the park. Lunch: Enjoy a packed bush lunch (picnic) inside the park.
Evening: Return to your lodge for dinner.

Morning Boat Safari & Departure from Kigali

Late Morning: Drive back from Akagera to Kigali International Airport (KGL) (approx. 2.5 hours).
