Climb some of the highest dunes in the world

Today, we recommend a visit to Sossusvlei, Deadvlei, Dune 45, Big Daddy and Sesriem Canyon. The photo opportunities here are incredible! Don't worry, you can't get lost here. There is only one road in and out of the Sesriem entrance gate.

Deadvlei is a white clay basin with petrified trees estimated to be over a 1000 years old. Walking distance from the parking area to Deadvlei is about 1.2 km after driving the very sandy gateway; however, we recommend you take the NWR shuttle
from the Deadvlei parking area to Deadvlei, as many people get stuck in the deep sand, which can be a costly recovery. You will definitely want to spend some time here hiking up and down the dunes to get different perspectives. You may want to climb Big Daddy, which towers over Deadvlei.

You will board one of the lodge’s game drive vehicles with a professional guide to experience the thrill of spotting wildlife amid magical red dunes, and then enjoy a sundowner atop one.
The Cheetah Excursion gives you the chance to get up close and personal with the fastest land animal on Earth.
