Self drive adventure awaits
Upon your arrival at the Hosea Kutako International
Airport, you will be met in the arrivals hall by a
representative of the car hire company holding a
sign with your name on it. After a few formalities,
the adventure begins!
You will drive through the capital city of Windhoek
before heading south to Bagatelle Boutique
Farmhouse through the town of Rehoboth. Heading
out of this town, you will begin to notice a change in
scenery from grassy and rocky plains to small rolling
red Kalahari dunes. The drive time from Windhoek
to Bagatelle is approximately 3 hours, and as you
approach Bagatelle Kalahari Game Ranch be on the
lookout for ostrich and giraffe. You will check in at
Bagatelle Main Lodge, and they will direct you to the
Farmhouse Villa. When you enter the gate to drive
to the main lodge you may encounter other wildlife
such as oryx and sable. You should arrive at the Villa
just in time for sunset, followed by dinner and your first
night on safari in Namibia.

Namib Naukluft Park
Namib Naukluft Park
This morning after breakfast at Bagatelle Farmhouse,
you will head southwest through the town of
Mariental on your way to Namib Desert Lodge,
descending from the central plateau into Namib-
Naukluft National Park. You will be leaving the
grassy savannah behind as you enter the desert
landscape. Be sure to stop along the way for photo
opportunities. Keep your eyes peeled for roaming
oryx, springbok, ostrich and the occasional blue
wildebeest. Without stops, the drive, which begins
on paved roads and turns into gravel, should take
approximately 4 hours. Road conditions can vary
and slower speeds (80km/h max) are advised.
After check-in, you can enjoy some lunch and relax
by the inviting pool before you head out for some
exploration. There's stunning scenery for miles and
miles in this area. Don't miss the magical Namibian sunset.

Day 3
Dunes of the Namib
Dunes of the Namib
Today, we recommend a visit to Sossusvlei,
Deadvlei, Dune 45, Big Daddy and Sesriem
Canyon. The photo opportunities here are
incredible!
There is only one road in and out of the Sesriem
entrance gate. The entrance fee is N$150/person
and N$50/vehicle. Remember to hang on to your
receipt so you can get into the park later in the
afternoon if you would like.
Deadvlei is a white clay basin with petrified trees
estimated to be over a 1000 years old. Walking
distance from the parking area to Deadvlei is about
1.2 km after driving the very sandy gateway;
however, we recommend you take the NWR shuttle
from the Deadvlei parking area to Deadvlei for
N$200, as many people get stuck in the deep sand,
which can be a costly recovery. You will definitely
want to spend some time here hiking up and down
the dunes to get different perspectives. You may
want to climb Big Daddy, which towers over
Deadvlei. We also recommend a late afternoon visit
to the Sesriem slot canyons.

Kuiseb Canyon with always-changing scenery where

Namibia on your way to Swakopmund. Drive time
today is approximately 4 hours.
There are lots of shops to explore in this quaint
seaside town and adrenaline fueled activities on
offer, such as skydiving. You may also want to
