Lake Manyara Game Drive and onto Tarangire National Park
Lake Manyara Game Drive and onto Tarangire National Park
After breakfast we leave the conservation area and head onto the stunning Lake Manyara National Park for game drive en route to Tarangire National Park. The beauty of Northern Tanzania is that every wilderness area is very distinct. A game drive in Lake Manyara National Park is uniquely beautiful, blending diverse ecosystems into a compact, intimate safari experience unlike the vast open plains of the Serengeti. The park's groundwater forest, a lush canopy of mahogany and fig trees fed by underground springs, teems with troops of blue monkeys and baboons swinging through branches, while elephants emerge from the shade to drink at hidden streams.
The soda lake itself shimmers pink with thousands of flamingos and pelicans against the dramatic Great Rift Valley escarpment backdrop, and the famous tree-climbing lions lounge in acacia branches—a rare behavior that adds an enchanting, almost surreal element. This mosaic of habitats—forest, lake, and open woodland—creates stunning contrasts.
