Your driver will meet you at the airport and take you to your lodge in Kigali. You will enjoy dinner at the lodge and relax in the pool before the safari starts tomorrow.
If you arrive in Kigali early, we can also do a city tour today or head straight to Akagera National Park and rest there instead.

After breakfast, your journey begins with a pickup from your hotel. You'll travel comfortably in a well-equipped safari vehicle.
You'll start the day with a guided Kigali city tour, including a moving visit to the Genocide Memorial, vibrant local craft markets, and key cultural landmarks that offer insight into Rwanda’s rich history and heritage.
After the city tour, you'll depart for Volcanoes National Park, a scenic drive through Rwanda’s beautiful countryside.

Today’s adventure offers a choice between two unforgettable experiences: You can choose to track the vibrant and energetic Golden Monkeys, known for their striking orange-gold coats and playful nature. Found only in a few places in the world, these rare primates leap through the lush greenery of the Virunga Mountains in large, lively troops—making for an incredible sight and a dream for photographers and wildlife lovers alike.
Alternatively, you may opt for a hike to the Dian Fossey Tomb, a powerful and moving journey through the forest to the resting place of the legendary primatologist. Along the way, you'll learn about her tireless work to protect mountain gorillas and the legacy she left behind in these misty mountains.
Afterwards, begin your scenic drive to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest.

Today you’ll trek in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, a UNESCO World Heritage Site that is home to nearly half of the world’s remaining mountain gorillas. After a short briefing, set off with your guide into the forest to track one of the habituated gorilla families. Once located, you’ll spend one unforgettable hour observing them up close — playing, moving through the trees, and interacting with each other in their natural environment.
After the trek, continue your journey to Lake Bunyonyi, one of the deepest lakes in Africa, known for its scenic beauty and dotted with terraced hills and small islands. Settle in and enjoy the peaceful lakeside atmosphere.

Lake Bunyonyi, often called the “Switzerland of Africa,” is framed by misty hills and scattered with 29 story-filled islands. This morning, you’ll set out on a tranquil boat excursion to explore some of these islands, admire the breathtaking scenery, and experience the rhythms of local life along the lakeshore.
After your boat adventure, begin the scenic journey to Akagera National Park. The drive takes you through scenic Rwandan countryside, passing small towns and rolling hills.
You'll arrive at your lodge in time to settle in, enjoy the surroundings, and prepare for the adventures ahead.

Start your day with a morning game drive through the scenic savannahs of Akagera National Park, Rwanda’s premier Big Five destination. Keep your eyes peeled for lions, leopards, elephants, buffaloes, and a variety of other wildlife including giraffes, zebras, topis, bushbucks, hippos, and warthogs.
After lunch, continue for a sunset game drive along the park’s lakes and rivers, where crocodiles, hippos, and water birds are often spotted. The golden hour light highlights the park’s natural beauty and offers perfect photo opportunities.
Afterward, head back to your lodge for dinner.

After breakfast, you’ll depart Akagera National Park and drive back to Kigali. Upon arrival in the city, your guide will drop you either at your hotel or directly at Kigali International Airport, depending on your onward travel plans.
