Day 1

Arusha National Park

Arusha National Park

After breakfast, you'll head to Arusha National Park for a game drive and a leisurely walking safari. This park is conveniently situated just 32 kilometers (20 miles) northeast of Arusha. It spans an area of 137 square kilometers (58 square miles) and is known locally as “Serengeti ndogo", which means "little Serengeti.” The park is encircled by the majestic peaks of Mt. Kilimanjaro and Mt. Meru, which can be admired on clear days. Notably, Arusha National Park is the sole park boasting seven alkaline lakes, and you’ll be able to canoe in them between 2:00 and 4:00pm.

The park's mascot, the black and white Colobus monkey, can be spotted gracefully leaping from tree branch to tree branch. Additionally, you'll encounter blue monkeys, olive baboons, elephants, hippos, leopards, hyenas, zebras, and various antelope species. Arusha National Park is also renowned for its rich avian life, with a staggering 400 species of both migratory and resident birds.
