Guests embarking on the popular northern safari circuit all stop here to prepare for their journeys into the African bush. Established by the Germans as a centre for colonial administration in the early 20th century, today Arusha is one of the country’s most prosperous towns and a major centre of Tanzanian diplomacy and international relations – lending it its nickname, the ‘Geneva of Africa’.

It’s also the calving season for many animals (January – February).

On arrival at the park, you will first experience the Lake Manyara Treetop Walkway – a guided walk along a 370m series of suspension bridges 18m off the ground that will provide you a unique birds-eye view of the world around you, while spotting all kinds of butterflies, birds, and monkeys – before the start of your full day of wildlife viewing drive, with lunch today taken as a picnic.
