After breakfast, embark on a guided tour of Stone Town. Explore its winding streets, historic landmarks like the House of Wonders, the Sultan’s Palace, and the Old Fort, and stop by bustling spice and souvenir markets. Mid-morning, aboard a boat to Prison Island (Changuu Island). Walk among the historic prison ruins, meet the famous giant Aldabra tortoises, and enjoy optional swimming or snorkeling in the clear waters surrounding the island. Start the day with a visit to a traditional spice farm. Wander through fragrant gardens and see how spices like cloves, cinnamon, nutmeg, and vanilla are grown and harvested. From there, continue to Jozani Chwaka Bay National Park, to see the rare red colobus monkeys. Enjoy a guided walk-through mangrove boardwalks, and swamp areas, spotting monkeys and birds. Early in the morning, you will be transferred to Zanzibar Airport for your flight to Mikumi National Park. Upon arrival, you will be welcomed by Armadillo adventures professional guide and embark on your first game drive, exploring the park’s savannahs and woodlands. Spot elephants, lions, giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, and a variety of birdlife. Midday, enjoy a picnic lunch surrounded by the sights and sounds of the African wilderness. In the late afternoon, continue your game drive before returning to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 6
Udzungwa Mountains National park

After an early breakfast, depart for Udzungwa Mountains National Park, one of Tanzania’s most spectacular and biologically rich rainforests. Spend the day trekking part of the ancient Eastern Arc Mountains. The highlight of the walk is the dramatic Sanje Waterfalls, plunging nearly 170 meters down sheer cliffs and offering breathtaking views over the Kilombero Valley. Depending on the route, you may also visit the more secluded Prince Bernhard Falls or the tranquil Njokamoni Falls, hidden deep within the forest. Along the trails, keep watch for endemic wildlife, including the Iringa red colobus monkey, Sanje mangabey, and a dazzling variety of butterflies and bird species found nowhere else in the world. Learn about the park’s vital role as a water catchment area and its importance to local communities and conservation efforts. In the afternoon you will have a picnic lunch, in the evening, you will return to your lodge for dinner and a restful night.

This concludes your unforgettable journey from Zanzibar’s beaches and cultural heritage to the wild savannahs of Mikumi and the lush forests of Udzungwa.
