Arrival in Kigali and transfer to the hotel

Upon arrival at Kigali International Airport, you will be picked up by our company representative and transferred to your hotel in Kigali, where you will spend your first night of this 5-day safari. If you need to exchange currency or pick up anything in Kigali, do so in the city with assistance from our company representative.

City tour and transfer to Volcanoes National Park, twin lakes boat ride

After a delicious breakfast at the hotel, you will check out and drive to the Kigali Genocide Memorial for a tour that provides insight into the 1994 Rwanda genocide. More than 250,000 victims of this horrible genocide are laid to rest here, and it is currently an honored place of remembrance for these victims.
From here, you will set off to Volcanoes National Park, where you will arrive in time for lunch. After checking into your hotel and having lunch, you will go for a boat ride on the twin lakes, visiting an island where you will enjoy views of other islands and the Virunga volcanoes. Later, you will return to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

Golden monkey trek and Gorilla Guardians Village for cultural experience

On this beautiful morning, you will have breakfast at the lodge and head out for golden monkey trekking. The activity starts with with a briefing at the prk offices before you head to the forest. The trek will take you into the bamboo section of Volcanoes National Park, where you will watch the golden monkeys jumping from branch to branch. After the trek, you may visit Ellen Campus (optional) and then drive back to the lodge for an early lunch.
In the afternoon, visit the Gorilla Guardians Village for the cultural experience, where the locals will showcase to you the traditional Rwandan ways of life, a traditional wedding, and entertainment with traditional music and dances. Your dinner and overnight stay will be at the same lodge as the previous night.

Bisoke hike and transfer to Kigali

Just like yesterday, you will have breakfast at the lodge and head to the park offices for a briefing, this time around for hiking. Then set off for the hike to the top of Mt. Bisoke, which rewards you with beautiful views of the crater lake. The hike takes about 7 hours to the top and back. When you return, you will have lunch at the lodge, have all your luggage in the vehicle, and drive to Kigali. On arrival, you will check into your previous city hotel, take a bath, and relax. You will have dinner and the overnight at the hotel.

Nyamirambo Women's Centre and Departure

This morning, you will visit Nyamirambo Women’s Centre, a non-profit organization that has been supporting disadvantaged women to improve their livelihoods. At their shop, you can buy nicely made craft items as souvenirs. After the short tour, you will bid farewell to Kigali and be driven to the airport so you can check in for your departure flight.
