During the rainy season, thousands of flamingos gather along the lake, creating a stunning spectacle. The park’s name comes from the Maasai word “emanyara”, a plant used to build protective family enclosures, or bomas. As we explore, keep an eye out for giraffes, zebras, wildebeests, buffalo, elephants, and if you’re lucky, lions lounging high in the acacia trees. Serengeti to Zanzibar Beaches
After breakfast, you’ll be transferred for departure to Zanzibar (ZNZ). Depending on your schedule, a short stop in historic Stone Town can be arranged at an additional cost before continuing to the northern coast of Zanzibar, known as Nungwi. Famous for its powdery white coral sands that seem to glow even after sunset, Nungwi manages to feel both lively and wonderfully secluded. Its wide, calm coastline is perfect for swimming, snorkeling, and enjoying Africa’s pristine, reef-rich waters, with minimal tidal fluctuations making water activities ideal throughout the day. There are plenty of ways to fill your time-walking tours, sunset dhow cruises, diving excursions, or parasailing-but often all it takes is a moment watching the traditional wooden dhows drift across the horizon at sunset to be completely captivated. You’ll spend three unforgettable nights soaking in the beauty and serenity of this incredible beach paradise.
