Upon arrival at the airport, you will be warmly welcomed by the Across the Wild Safaris team and begin your scenic drive to the world-famous Masai Mara National Reserve. Enjoy changing landscapes from the Great Rift Valley to sweeping savannah plains, setting the perfect tone for your safari.

The Masai Mara is one of the few remaining places on earth where wildlife still roams freely in vast numbers. As the northern extension of the Serengeti ecosystem, it is renowned for its exceptional wildlife density and the dramatic seasonal migration of wildebeest, zebras, and predators.

Arrive in time for check-in and lunch at Amani Mara Camp, a comfortable tented camp offering warm hospitality and an authentic bush atmosphere. In the afternoon, head out for your first game drive, a thrilling introduction to the Mara with chances to spot lions, elephants, giraffes, and plains game.

Return to camp for dinner and an overnight stay, surrounded by the sounds of the African wilderness.

Day 2

Masai Mara National Reserve

Masai Mara National Reserve

After breakfast, depart with packed lunch boxes for a full-day game drive in the spectacular Masai Mara National Reserve, one of Africa’s richest wildlife habitats. Spend the day exploring vast open plains and riverine forests in search of exceptional game viewing.

The reserve is famous for its powerful black-maned lions and an incredible concentration of resident wildlife, making it one of the best places in Africa to spot the Big Five in a single day. Cheetahs are frequently seen at close range, often resting near safari vehicles or using elevated vantage points to scan for prey, offering remarkable photographic moments.

The Masai Mara is also a paradise for bird lovers, with close to 500 recorded species. These include numerous eagles, hawks and falcons, several vulture and stork species, striking bustards such as the Kori bustard, and colorful sunbirds.

After an immersive day in the wild, return to your camp in the evening for dinner and overnight.

After an early morning pickup, depart for Lake Nakuru National Park, driving through the scenic Great Rift Valley and crossing the Equator en route. Set south of Lake Bogoria, this iconic park is one of Kenya’s most celebrated natural wonders, famed worldwide for its dramatic landscapes and rich wildlife.

Lake Nakuru is best known for its alkaline waters that attract vast flocks of flamingos, which at peak times form a spectacular pink ribbon along the lake’s shoreline. Beyond birdlife, the park is a renowned rhino sanctuary, protecting a significant population of both black and white rhinos, alongside buffalo, giraffe, zebra, and elusive leopards.

Arrive in time for lunch and check in at Nakuru Sopa Lodge, beautifully set on the edge of the escarpment with sweeping views over the park.
